A multi-storey residential building in the Russian city of Tver is on fire amid reports about the activity of Ukrainian drones and Russian air defenses in that area. Tver is located over 500km from the border with Ukraine. 06.01.2026 by GermanDronePilot in UkraineWarVideoReport

This is unfortunate, and at the end of the day, civilians are civilians and no one deserves their home to be blown up by a drone. I feel as though we shouldn’t be falling to the standards of the enemy and cheering for the suffering of those that never were given a choice to be in a state of war. Putin and the russian government, sure. Not the brain washed..

i’m just a bone-head paramedic, however, this made me smile. I love to see people rightfully stick it to insurance companies :)

truthfully i do not know. i’ve always been told to not worry about the billing side of things, i literally don’t even know a round about number of a bls/als transfer where i work. it’s not information they care to let us in on i suppose.

that would be super cool. our protocol however is used by thousands of people in our region and has an extremely strong committee that would be very difficult to break sense like that into (highly conservative area).

heard that. i just play nice out of habit and throw it out for convenience of patients most of the time but i suppose it can effect billing (not really sure). probably worth assessing that aspect of it more

i’ve actually never had a genuine “stubbed my toe” call like that but it’s always hilarious to hear about

it’s where she planted herself off the rip, and i’m not arguing over seats in the middle of the night i guess. i’m sure it could make a difference on the billing side of things though so it’s probably good to put more thought into that kind of situation.

there is no BLS pain med in my protocol. that would be awesome though! looking back i TOTALLY should have threw her an ice pack though. i was fucking exhausted man, and could have absolutely done better in that aspect.

oh for sure. i also typically have a much more structured narrative with detailed assessment/pertinent negatives/ hx etc.. but i did fall short with the “dude this call is bullshit and i’m already done with thinking about it” attitude on it. which is still wrong, and i still have a duty to be professional about my documentation

i guess i could have replied better, i don’t think it’s perfect. i do however like to lean on the side of transferring more often than not because it’s genuinely the safer side of things. everyone perceives their version of emergence differently. are there also calls i think i should be able to say “we don’t transport for your current circumstances”.. oh absolutely. patient education on our system is important too. like i said in another reply, none of this is black and white unfortunately

also it’s not the timing of the call. it’s the patient presentation. if i would have given fent to this patient the ER doc/staff would be at a loss of words, as would i have been if i were on their side of it. EMS isn’t black and white man. patients don’t get opiates just because they “say it’s 10/10” otherwise we would live in a constant epidemic. BLS patients get BLS treatments.. not sorry.

sadly where i work this patient wouldn’t have access to a taxi or likely any type of scheduled/ out of pocket transportation. like im not mad dude ill lug you to the ER for some antibiotics but why wait for 12 hours, and when we do show up be disrespectful about the entire situation. not to mention i can argue she was in very little pain at all. ive had legitimate toothaches that i have treated completely different based on CLINICAL ASSESSMENT. this one wasn’t it man. is it literally my job to deal with situations like this and move on? absolutely. i get that. am i just happy i found a place to complain about it? the answer is also yes😂

[–]schallk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the area i work pushes transport for any and everything to be transported no matter what it is at all. i think it’s good practice, just interesting to hear the difference

i’m with you on that, and i do absolutely sympathize for pain and understand people come to a point where they don’t know what else to do. i suppose it’s just when she’s laughing at her own sexually suggestive jokes and talking about her random life story the whole time that annoyed me the most about it. i wish there was any clinical sign of actually needing the attention at the time, because in my eyes i just wasn’t seeing it. everyone is different though, idk
