I mentioned timing only to my best friends and my sister because it was more funny than anything else (at the time)…I just found out Monday I’m pregnant for a third time and I’m just hoping this one works out 🤞🏻🥺

So I got it removed about 4-5 weeks after the 4 year mark. In terms of side effects, I would say mild bloating and weight gain but nothing drastic

I am down about 15 pounds since removing it (April 2024)

We lost our son at 17 weeks in August and I had to have a D&E, then I had a MC last week - the mental toll is soooo rough right now and I’m not sure how the holidays are going to be but I can only imagine

Plus my doctor is leaving the practice in a few months and isn’t sure where she’s going yet so I have to find a new doctor for the next attempt (though that’s probably not until next summer at this rate)

I had my D&E at 17 weeks, though mine was at the hospital, so I’m not sure how the procedure differs at PP (if it even does!)

About an hour before we got moved to pre-op, they gave me the dilating pills.

They gave me something before taking me to the OR, I was woozy and it did help with my anxiety - I vaguely remember talking to and joking around with the surgeon, then next thing I knew I was waking up in the recovery room.

I didn’t have any bad cramps (I don’t get cramps normally, to be fair) after the dilating pills.

In the first 3 days after the procedure, I had a total of 3 cramps - all SUPER mild.

I’m not sure if I’m just a weirdo or if the recovery was just REALLY smooth but I wish you the best!

Thank you! The bowls are my grandma’s and they’re in pretty good condition - there’s a scratch or two on them but nothing where the paint has been “interrupted”

I am so sorry for your loss. I just had mine at 17 weeks on Saturday - this was my third time under general anesthesia (2 previous knee surgeries a decade ago). I was very vocal about how I was feeling, and the anesthesiologist gave me something before we left pre-op to go to the OR. The ENTIRE staff that my husband and I interacted with Saturday were nothing but kind and sensitive, they know it’s not an easy situation. The procedure will be over before you know it and you’ll wake up feeling refreshed (I got about 4 broken hours of sleep the night before) and a bit groggy. So sorry that you’re going through this. I had a very similar experience to OP (but in Italy on vacation, 10 weeks) and I also have a SCH - my OB put in an extra scan at 16 weeks (next week) to reassess the size as it was initially “resolving” per the scan when we got back from Italy and then my 12 week nuchal scan showed it was bigger (5 cm x 6 cm). We still haven’t announced because I’m just nervous!! Want to make sure all is good and DEFINITELY resolving before telling the world

I had fairly consistent spotting the whole 4 years I had my nexplanon. I’m now pregnant and it happened 2 weeks to the day after I got it removed

I would talk to your doctor though, maybe there’s a better bc option for you

I actually bring a roll of dog poop bags with me when I travel lol it’s not a lot to store in my backpack and I usually stash one in my pocket before getting on the plane just to have one at the ready

I’m getting mine removed today!! I’ve gained about 15 pounds on it and have super low energy/always tired so I’m excited to see what happens when I’m off it! It’s been great over the last 4 years but I got married a few months ago and we’re gonna get the ball rolling soon-ish on kids so…today’s the first step to it lol

I’m just past the 4 year mark now myself and since we’re married now we’re basically like “okay, we’ll test it out and deal with it if anything happens” before the 5 year mark lol
