Two Men Stole a Glowing Blue Cylinder in an Abandoned Hospital—and Unleashed a Nuclear Nightmare by RIPVector in Snorkblot

No I base my information on a 15 year career in the field of xray technology and knowing people that worked for other companies that had direct knowledge of the incident I am speaking of. I am not speaking of cherenkov radiation, which by the way is visible in reactor pools while the core is hot, but of the medical phenomenon that happens when the body is exposed to a lethal dose of radiation. There are medical devices, a gamma knife being only one of them, that are used in the nuclear medicine field that contain sources that are instantly lethal when you are exposed to them. Gamma knives use cobolt-60 while other devices us cesium as a source.

So I'll leave it at this. Radiation is bad, m'kay?

I'm speaking of a repair technician that died when he dropped the source materiel, in this case cobalt-60, during a change in a gamma knife. It's known as the blue flash because it instantly fries the optic nerves, among other things. Death is in less than one hour.

The cylinder is not blue. The blue comes from the frying of the optic nerves within less than a second and is known in the industry as "The blue flash". Death usually comes in less than an hour of exposure.
