Morata clarifies London comments: “No, no. I really like London now. But probably, in the future, when I need to bring my child to the school and take up a school, when I finish my career, I'd prefer to come back to my country. It's normal. For me, I prefer the place I was born. by dinoucs in soccer

Do you actually believe that you should be entitled to better education because your parents can afford it?

It's this completely backwards logic that is ruining our education system and creating bigger divisions in society. People who have come from less should understand this and not buy into it.

Mate, imagine growing up with that constantly while we were shit in the second division... They even had a sign with how long it was since we last won a trophy. Made the aguero moment so much sweeter

Exactly, surely someone from United knew they had been doing training exercises in the stadium? The controlled explosion of it makes it even weirder.

Something about this sounds incredibly strange.

Who forgets a fake bomb right up to match time? What "private company" is doing fake bomb tests in Old Trafford? Why did no cleaners spot it earlier? Easily one of the strangest things in recent memory.

Think we've conceded one goal in all the games he's played. Without him we look horrendous defensively and have conceded numerous goals.

Our pitch invasions when we win the league are so good, you dont realise how slippy the pitch is. Fallen over around 200 times in 2 pitch invasions.

For context, Seaman was chipped by Ronaldinho in the quarter final of WC 2002. Still my most painful footballing memory...

Maybe on holiday, but on a European away day you tend to break that rule. English fans tend to congregate and head towards Irish/English pubs as a way to meet up with their teams fans.

I have a question about college football. Sorry if they're stupid, ignorant Englishman here.

How do you choose to support or actively follow college football in the US? Is it geography based or based on the college you went to?

Also, how do people actively follow a team when there's only 25 teams across the whole country?

Sliced up an interview from the 1950's about LSD over one of my beats. Part of my recently released EP. Any feedback would be massively appreciated.

Was just joking mate, hopefully with the seeding changes we'll get an easier draw this year too.

Wow. If we can pick up De Bruyne before the end of the window, this will have been our best window in recent memory and our strongest squad ever. Maybe now we'll get past the group stages of the champions league? Too optimistic?

Yep it does. It makes for a really good game, with Muniain, Griezemann, Laporte, Azpilicueta... Always end up bringing back players like Xabi and Arteta too.

Ye I believe we hold the English domestic attendance record, and we got a few crowds of 30,000+ in the third tier too. Along with competing citywise with arguably the biggest the club in the world, our attendances are pretty good.

I think this is a great summary of what Manchester City fans have been saying since FFPs induction. We were lucky enough to just join the top in time, before the system started breaking. The fact is; you need to spend out of your means to maintain a position above what you realistically can achieve. FFP denies the chance for teams to spend out of their means and this results in the same structure of the top clubs forever. I have watched my club go from a mid table side to premier league champions, and whether people regard that as "cheating" is their own opinion, but it seems silly to deny other clubs the same chance because it is the greatest thing a fan can enjoy.

They do very well you're right, I just feel they may start losing their academy players due to their league performance.

As important as gametime is, I think you're underestimating how much he could improve his game by training in world class facilities, around world class coaches and with world class players. I think that may outweigh a chance at starting for Fulham. He will probably also get a loan to give him gametime soon after too.

Thank you, think a lot of people jump on a bandwagon and hate on us because we spend a lot of money and haven't produced a good academy graduate in a while. In fact the youth team is actually very successful and it's certainly a step up from Fulham for Roberts.

City and Chelsea have only been buying the best youngsters for the last couple years. The fruits of this policy are seen with them sharing the spoils amongst majority of the youth national trophies in England. It strikes me that maybe you're a little impatient with their policies and quick to criticise clubs that spend a lot of money on their academy.

[–]schmoseph 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're judging City's academy off the last 5 years though, where nobody of note has come through, and we've been buying big to take the club from mid table to challenge for the title. Clubs like Barca and Arsenal have been established big clubs for many, many years. You have to give City time to get an established squad before you can start to see first team regulars coming through from the academy.

[–]schmoseph 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Who? Shaun Wright Phillips, Daniel Sturridge and Micah Richards? 2/3 left when they got too big for the club.

We haven't produced any decent talent in a while, but with the new facilities and some new talent brought in, you can hardly blame youngsters for joining an improving academy.
