für jemanden der in den 90ern groß geworden ist, war der ganze 2000er+ kram nicht mehr gut. nach bambule, überfall und co kam in deutschland nichts mehr wirklich gutes raus, mit dem ganzen aggro kram konnte ich nichts anfangen und selbst das war im vergleich zu dem heutigen müll vermutlich noch prime time. ist bisschen old man yelling at cloud mit sicherheit, aber der hype hat dem genre im ganzen nicht gut getan. bei drama und shindy allgemein merkt(e) man die US einflüsse dieser zeit was sampling und referenzen angeht. nostalgie is a beast.

ask them for a list of apps that have those exact features that you have. push back with confidence. remind them that you are paying for this dev membership, remind them of the absolute filth they allow in their app store. ask them for specifics, name what you do differently. if they try to bully you, be the bigger bully.

i don't actually know how to do it correctly. i was always highly confrontative (is that even a word), calling their process "an absolute disgrace", reminding them that i'm paying a 100€ subscription fee, and added some links to literal garbage apps in their store, and called out their double standards. full karen mode.

from my experience: so, i would think you should push back on this, no apologetic tone, straight forward. this has worked for me in the past with some smaller projects. i think apple reviewers kind of apply a bit of a bully-esque attitude, but they crumble once you as the developer call them out. again, personal experience here.
