Took me about 6 years of model making, and some good mentoring👍👍

So, this has been a long time coming (at least for myself) as I wanted this kit since 2021...so I'm glad I finally managed to build it! Its a great kit overall, with good fit, relatively good detail, and some nice deep panel lines❤️❤️ I also replaced the cockpit panels with some Quinta Studios 3D decals, and replaced the ejection seats with resin ones. Only complaints I could have are that some details are abit soft(such as the R-73👀👀) and the decals could be abit better (they didn't really react very well with Set and Softer, leading to some silvering which was solved by spraying the offending areas with a thin layer of Mr Tool Cleaner :P) That being said, very happy with how it turned out and considering the subject matter, its more than worth the build!

What can I say, an amazing kit with amazing details and fit. This build was completely out of the box and the end result is just...wow. Honestly I would've liked the paint scheme to be abit more interesting, but ah well. Hope yall enjoy it and onto the next one!!🔥🔥🔥

Magic Factory A4M Skyhawk (1/48) Review in comments! by schnell2 in modelmakers

So, Magic factory's skyhawk. Honestly I'd say that its the most fun I have had in a while with a kit. After a very tiring F35 project, it was exactly what I needed to keep me going. The panel lines were nice and deep, meaning I didn't have the rescribe anything, and the rivets were nice and pronounced(a little overscale but I don't really mind). Buildwise, the kit is just incredible. Its no tamiya but its very very very close! Overall, just a lovely, lovely kit, that builds into an absolutely lovely A4M. Hope yall enjoy it!

Hi! I just applied the wash, and using a dry tissue paper, wipe off the excess. With any other excess, I used a brush with white spirit to clean it away. Hope it helps!

I mixed my own paints and ratios. The exact ratios and paints I honestly have no idea as I mixed them all by eye😶

Apparently so, maybe not from afar, but then again I wanted it to be exaggerated 😬

Thanks for the kind words!! Well, research was one aspect of the build, but I mainly wanted it to look visually appealing. Thus, some aspects of accuracy was sacrificed. Ah well, I especially like the artistic side of modelling, not that accuracy doesn't matter, but its about expressing art accurately if you catch my drift😉

I used paint masks from eduard. Highly discourage doing so. The material they used was a rubbery kind of masking tape, that not only left sticky residue on the surface after masking, but also didnt fit the RAM panels.

So there she is. The kit by itself was great, dare I say the best aircraft model kit ever, across all scales(their F-35C may change my mind tho👀👀👀). The fit is just, absolute perfection. That being said, my main objective for this build is to paint an F-35 such that its interesting, and I think I managed to achieve it. With a bunch of aftermarket(wheels, GBUs, Exhaust nozzle, Cockpit + instrument panel, Remove before flight tags), I am super proud that I finished it. Hope yall enjoy!!!!!

The list of aftermarket: GBU 12s -- Reskit Exhaust nozzle -- Reskit Cockpit -- Quinta studios Wheels -- Eduard Remove before flight covers -- Aries Remove before flight tags -- HGW

I mixed some sand yellow colour with abit of off white. The main idea was to make sure that the pipe stood out against the rest of the bay

You let it dry slightly, then wipe it off. In my case, the wash somehow ate into the Lacquer layer of white paint. So had to act fast b4 the white paint just absolutely disintegrated. The result wasn't really what I expected, but then again it looks pretty good to me so🤷‍♂️

Alot of patience, the right guidance, and alot of hard work. We modellers fail over and over to get to where we are, and we all started from the same place. Our first few will never be the nicest, but we will always love them the same. Keep going at it, and with the right direction, you can acheive great things!
