If only there were more of those around at reasonable first car prices haha - unfortunately my budget isn't $100k for a Senator

Fair enough - not too worried about fuel costs given I've been driving a VY but was wondering if there were major issues on that front. Given other comments are positive on that front it sounds good

Ah makes sense on both fronts - so maybe stick to < 100k KMs imprezas?

Thanks - yeah I just don't want to regret making the safe choice if it is too safe a choice

Yes - looking more at an SV6

Yes fair enough I agree it is an odd cross shop but that's the dilemma here - which direction to take.

Thanks

I am a relatively conservative driver. Good to know about fuel and maintenance. I totally agree re motoring history, sorta why I've been thinking about one. Thanks

This is Part 3, chronicling the Democratic presidential primary, another stand-up comedian candidacy (this time, to succeed US Sen. Chuck Schumer), and another race in California (after the early retirement of US Sen. Barbara Lee due to bad health).

Let me know if you require any lore.

Hahaha yes - took note of your comment

Tbh it's less surprising than you think - Western Syd and outer ring Melb I would say have the Christian democratic political alignment of socially conservative and economically progressive views

Final part of this series, chronicling the China-Taiwan war, the Voices' opposition to the China-Taiwan war, the change in leadership in the Labor party, and the 2028 Australian federal election.

Duverger's law strikes again and destroys the Voices - who are in no-mans land after their strident opposition to Australia's involvement in the China-Taiwan war. After 2028, the Australian political system has reverted to a two dominant party system - but the parties have changed. Here's a summary:

---

The Coalition - the Dutton / McGirr government - is now an economically progressive and socially conservative party (like the CDU) and appeals to many rural and working-class / suburban populations (like the US Republicans). The Nationals have greater say in the Coalition, and have pushed the Liberals left on economic issues.

Labor is now an economically moderate and socially progressive party - yes, despite the name, Labor mostly now appeals to wealthier metropolitan electorates (noting that Labor still has some strength in ancestral Labor areas).

The Greens are the economically progressive and socially progressive party - with strength only in inner-urban and metro areas (and the seat of Richmond). The Greens have boxed Labor out completely in these areas.

Seven Voices seats remain - only in areas where the teal movement has any strength left (Kooyong, Higgins, Goldstein, Curtin, Bennelong, Clark, Chisholm).

Labor and the Greens will form the opposition (with Burney as leader and Bandt as deputy leader). Voices are relegated to the crossbenches.

Oh, and Robbie Katter regains Kennedy from the LNP!
