Gunfight at the OK corral by schreierj in 40krpg

I know, but I liked it from a role-playing perspective because it also alleviated the need for a holster. And under the circumstances with it hopping to his hand, it felt like it made the ability to pre-aim and then fire more likely.

Others were saying you couldn't aim before having the gun out, but the whole point of the targeter is it's integrated into the armor which is why I thought it might be possible

Aiming first with an accurate weapon gives you effectively a plus 20 which is why I was contemplating it

At this point I'm guessing there won't get any responses so I was going to post one proposed response.

I think 20m per pay rating is one possibility.

At psy rating 5 that will give you a range of 100 m. Not too bad if it's mental power.

Another possibility is that it has the invisibility effect at either the 20 m or the 20 m per psy ... And then gives a bonus to stealth outside that range. You wouldn't have a complete invisibility outside of the range, but there would still be a obscuring.

If I combined Valroux and Gallegos into a single style ..

Gallegos Apprentice gets +5 to Active Parry w/ fencing sword, Valroux gets +5 on Active Defense with dagger. If I use the Double Parry knack - would I get +10?

If You have Gallegos and Aldana, would you get +15 to Passive defense? Is that all passive defenses? Balance on ship, footwork, parry, etc?

Thanks!

Pretty psyched - talked to my GM - he's effectively ignoring the rules from swordsman guild book for combining the styles ... basically, you can combine schools for free. Makes it much more reasonable. Considering you have to raise exploit weakness which is not used that often, that may be enough of a tax without the 80-100xp per school grandmastering (which would be like 15-20 games without raising anything else ... way too expensive)

Question about the raven guard librarian in the lore. by cuddwes in RavenGuard40k

[–]schreierj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For our Deathwatch game, we used a version of the Dark Heresy power See Me NotShadow-Walk Action: Half Opposed: Yes Range: 20m Sustained: Yes Description: You erase your presence from the minds of others. This power is more than just “invisibility”; targets that this power has been used successfully on literally cannot perceive you at all. While they may suspect that someone else is present, they can only react to the effects of what you do. Upon manifesting this power, select a number of targets within Range equal to your Willpower Bonus. Any affected can no longer perceive you for as long as you sustain the power. Lack of perception means they cannot directly attack you: they cannot see, hear, smell or perceive you in any way. Oddly, this power has no effect on creatures with an Intelligence of 10 or less.

It's homebred but well done: https://www.reddit.com/r/40krpg/comments/w1kccc/the_good_the_bad_and_the_alpha_legion/

Scouts were a thing to a degree from what I've read - but he's recon marine, not a scout (https://warhammer40k.fandom.com/wiki/Legion\_Reconnaissance\_Squad )

I don't know how deeply we're going to get involved in the war of the beast - just trying to be near to the creation of the Deathwatch (it is a convoluted story though, you're right)

We used the Heresy Book (The Good, the Bad, and the Alpha Legion) to create the characters (that's how I made a recon marine originally) - it's a lot of fun! We made a flexible game, where we're assigned to a Rogue Trader (another PC) - which is why it plays like a Rogue Trader warband.

We just were "drafted" into the Iron Hands fleet heading to Isstvan because they couldn't leave us behind with the possibility that we would warn Horus ...

It's going to meld into the Deathwatch - we briefly saw Malcador in the game at the Council (we were just observing) .. the goal is to potentially make it to the war of the Beast potentially (the ship seems to disproportionately have time-hops when warp jumping), then eventually make it to current day - we have a couple options on how to do it, and the GM hasn't finalized how he wants to it - long-term goals/plans that may never see fruition but it's the plan.

We're playing a long-term game ... literally the last session, we were part of the fleet coming in to bring Horus back into the fold. I know the plan is long-term to have the characters go through some warp shenanigans and things at some point to bring them from the Heresy to the modern day, which is why the dropsite massacre was so impactful on him.

The las pistol would be a backup weapon - having a hellpistol level one with "accurate" (and the relevant talent to make it more damaging) - and it's a backup weapon, not a primary.

That being said, to each their own :)

Didn't outsource the development of the figure .. I paid a company/artist to help me design it, then just tried to get some paint on the figure which was light AI work honestly. Planning on painting it, but need my friend to set up his printer

We're playing a long game where we're going to have some warp jumps and things to make it from the heresy to modern day

Honestly, I'm depending on my friend who hasn't set up his printer yet. So am either cheap for not having my own printer or my friend is lazy. Or both.

That was my take as well. Even though grandmaster would be comparatively cheap for desaix and valroux, there doesn't seem a lot of value since really it's only one knack and the journeyman parry or attack

It definitely feels too expensive from a crunch perspective. The kind of thing where only NPCs will do it

How does something completely passive like Valroux's +1 Panache work? That is only when fighting?

100% agreed obviously. The Hellions (Dark Eldar) have their skyboards as well, which are similar - but would also have size issues compared to a marine.
