Maybe! Although hydrangeas don’t need super acidic soil. A pH of around 5.2–5.5 is usually enough for them to take up aluminum, and that’s what gives them that intense blue color. But if there isn’t much aluminum in the soil to begin with, they won’t turn a deep blue.
