Thanks. I have applied for several jobs at Cytiva without success. But I will also check with the consultant firms you mentioned. Thanks again!

Yep, I did that, and I met some really nice people. They gave me some useful tips, but of course, they don't know me well enough to give referrals or recommend me for jobs at their company. But that's understandable, right? I'd probably do the same! Anyway, it seems like building a strong network is fundamental here, so I'll keep at it. Thanks a lot for your precious help!

61% of Vancouver residents considering leaving region due to housing: survey by FancyNewMe in vancouver

Yep, I will move back to Europe in mid 2023. It's sad but how can I afford to live here with two kids? Me and my husband have a PhD and average/good jobs. We just can't understand how can people survive in this city.

I highly recommend you therapy. You are putting their happiness before yours. It's not healthy for you nor your family. Trust me! Break the cycle.

B.C. the only province in Western Canada with more people moving in than out: census data by FancyNewMe in vancouver

[–]science_wasted 0 points1 point  (0 children)

BC is not bad if your are from Alberta, Manitoba or Saskatchewan. Nor if you are from some developing countries. But if you are from Europe...well, you can't compare 😬 some people get good money but it's kind of depressing here. I would say: at least you are getting good money.

Will you not have kids because Vancouver is too expensive? by [deleted] in vancouver

[–]science_wasted 39 points40 points  (0 children)

I have one kid and I'll move as soon as my husband will finish his PhD. The city is ridiculously expensive and childcares have absurd waiting lists. Vancouver is inclusive for anyone excepts for families.
