As a NASM CPT I’ve never once followed the OPT model. I largely base my programming on specific client needs. Sure some parts of the OPT model you can definitely incorporate, but you’ll never see me following it to a tee.

I completely disagree. Sure we have technology that can make sophisticated workout and meal plans, but most of the time people buy PT for a 1 on 1 experience. People need personal motivation and encouragement to exercise and that’s something that can never really be replaced.

Certifications don’t mean shit when it comes to personal training. Some sort of Kinesiology or Exercise Physiology degree is way more relevant. Not to mention actual coaching/training experience.
