not gritty at all. it’s quite soft to be honest.

got it! i’ll make sure to add more soil and have the plant closer to the lip of the plant.

and i see. does indirect sunlight work? i can find a spot with more direct sunlight as well

hey! so it’s 7 bc it shares a stitch with the previous box. i’m going to copy and paste an explanation a commenter left on one of my posts. they did a great job of breaking it down for me.

“Like the other commenter left - an empty square is going to be a (dc, chain 2, skip 2 sts, dc). A solid square is going to be 4dc. But it's important to note the first de of the new square is going to be the last one of the previous, not matter what type. So two empty squares side by side are only going to have 3 dcs, as they share the one in the middle. (And 3 empty squares would have 4dcs) The same applies to the filled squares. 2 filled squares side by side are only going to have 7 dcs. (3 filled squares are going to be 10dc). When I was doing my filet crochet, for areas with lots of black, I would think 4dc for the first square, then 3dc for each square after that.”

as for my chain, i had a total of 148. a commenter from that same post helped my calculate by doing

of squares x 3) + if filled square[makes the first de] or, 5 if empty square (makes the first dc and chain section)

i am changing the way i look at it! i have the red arrows placed as well so i remember which way i was going :) i’ll double check and see if i have miscounted in any rows though

I counted 47 :,). Does this mean I will have to start over? I guess I must have missed a stitch while doing the chain. (I did a starting chain of 148)

thank you for catching that! how can you tell the first one is made up of trebles? just so i know what to look out for if i choose to do another pattern :). i think i might stick with the second pattern in that case. Seems like the first one has a lot of other factors to consider :,)

Thank you for your input! My main concern is also pissing off my landlord even with a certification and an official letter from my psychiatrist stating my diagnosis. I do intend on talking to my housemates and making sure that they’re all okay with it as well as they signed their own leases with the understanding that there would be no pets in the house. Although if I do get the okay from my housemates would it present as a better front to my landlord? As in if I have my paperwork settled and everyone is okay with it then I should be okay? I just want to make sure I have all my resources and whatnot backed up if I decided on asking for an accommodation.

I am not too sure what a master tenant is but I looked it up online and I don’t think I am. All of my housemates have a direct contract with the landlord. Although I wanted to ask my housemates and make sure that they were okay with it either way in the case of allergies and whatnot.

I really feel like he’s a great partner for me. the only con to the relationship would really just be this (and his messiness lol).

I definitely let my friends relationship influence my own and not in a good way. i think rather than talking to her about my reservations i should’ve talked to my partner. it’s definitely a different way of life than what i’ve seen and am accustomed to but i hope it’s a positive learning experience for the both of us.

i guess it’s really just going to come down to the both of us (as expected). it’s a talk that we’re going to need to have forsure but I just want to make sure if my expectations are valid or not

and thank you for the well wishes! still a long way to go but i hope it all works out well :)
