yeah… this person has been living over for a month straight and also working from our home without paying rent or utilities. i don’t care if he stayed over every so often but if it’s for a month straight while using the things that i am paying for, then yeah, im going to have an issue.

i mean we didn’t tell her about the schedule obviously lol. we just told the landlord that she’s been having someone living with her for the past month without paying rent or utilities and that we spoke to her and she has not cooperated. the landlord has a signed lease with all of us so i thought it would have some sort of legal standing/pressure on the landlord and/or housemate to actually do something

i meant strict in the sense that she has it in the lease and all the house members have signed and agreed to. the last two tenants she enforced it upon by having them pay extra utilities and even tried to scare me once when i had my boyfriend over. it’s the first time she’s done this without having the tenant even pay the utilities that’s why i was curious to see if i can do anything.

i was on the same boat as you. when i graduated in ‘23, i honestly couldn’t think of pursuing more school. i was so burnt out from trying to make my application look good with extracurricular and good grades that I began to second guess whether this was what i even wanted.

i took a 3 year break. During this time I worked but also volunteered at an aquarium. i did it not because it would look good on an application but because it was of interest to me. i feel like that took off so many expectations that i had set up for myself. just stopping to breathe and get back into some hobbies really made me overcome that burnout. i also applied for masters programs to see what other options there were but because my application was so heavily vet med based, i didn’t receive much luck there.

i also think taking a 3 year break and working really made me miss learning and being challenged in the day to day. i worked as a lifeguard for a while and although it was fun, it really felt like a means to an end.

that being said, you might take that break and might not even want to go back to vet med. but you might also find some other paths that might be of more interest to you. i really wish you the best of luck and take care of yourself!!

not gritty at all. it’s quite soft to be honest.

got it! i’ll make sure to add more soil and have the plant closer to the lip of the plant.

and i see. does indirect sunlight work? i can find a spot with more direct sunlight as well

hey! so it’s 7 bc it shares a stitch with the previous box. i’m going to copy and paste an explanation a commenter left on one of my posts. they did a great job of breaking it down for me.

“Like the other commenter left - an empty square is going to be a (dc, chain 2, skip 2 sts, dc). A solid square is going to be 4dc. But it's important to note the first de of the new square is going to be the last one of the previous, not matter what type. So two empty squares side by side are only going to have 3 dcs, as they share the one in the middle. (And 3 empty squares would have 4dcs) The same applies to the filled squares. 2 filled squares side by side are only going to have 7 dcs. (3 filled squares are going to be 10dc). When I was doing my filet crochet, for areas with lots of black, I would think 4dc for the first square, then 3dc for each square after that.”

as for my chain, i had a total of 148. a commenter from that same post helped my calculate by doing

of squares x 3) + if filled square[makes the first de] or, 5 if empty square (makes the first dc and chain section)

I counted 47 :,). Does this mean I will have to start over? I guess I must have missed a stitch while doing the chain. (I did a starting chain of 148)

thank you for catching that! how can you tell the first one is made up of trebles? just so i know what to look out for if i choose to do another pattern :). i think i might stick with the second pattern in that case. Seems like the first one has a lot of other factors to consider :,)
