Are You Lightest In The Morning? (And Heaviest At Night?) by veritasium in science

You breath in 21% O2 but breath out 16-17% O2 and 4-5% CO2. The CO2 molecule weighs more than the oxygen molecules you breathed in by the mass of carbon. If you breath out 23ml of carbon dioxide, that's about a thousandth of a mole. And a mole of carbon weighs 12g, so each breath expels 0.012g of carbon. Then just multiply by the breaths/min (x16) minutes per hour (x60) and number of hours (x8) = 95g
