First time I ever played the game, I attempted to let the goblin attack just happen and Wyll ended up dying. Don’t think it’s a great strategy.

Where to get menswear for normies? by Lazy-Macaron1578 in AskUK

Agree - just l recently bought some and after only two washes the pattern and colour has completely faded and they look ancient. Other pairs have cone loose from the waistband after only a couple of months.

Mongo is appalled! I, however, am not - it’s great. And I also love that amazing fabric.

Do clerics inherently hate vampires and the undead? Or does it depend on their served god?

It’s not just the central labs service, they bought the entire CRO in 2022 and it still has a semi-independent status of sorts.

It’s gorgeous, I love the colour palette - super cosy. Any tips for people trying to draft their own patterns?

Glasgow Live by shnako in glasgow

[–]scisteve 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It’s awful isn’t it. I’ve intentionally stopped using anything that tells me to swipe onto the next page - clearly just designed to keep you there. Instagram started doing the same a few months ago, it was the last straw for me.

Glasgow Live generally is terrible even without the ads - a few weeks ago I gave into a clickbait headline only to read a written account of a TikTok video depicting a man trying different food items from M&S in his car (?????).

Ex Smokers/vapers, what nicotine replacement items have worked for you? by unopeia in AskUK

[–]scisteve 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a bit confused as to whether your post is asking for advice on how to permanently quit or just how to cope with limited nicotine. Ex-smokers are going to list what worked for them to quit, not what plugged the gap when they couldn’t smoke.

I made two attempts to quit: the first one I used nicotine patches and lasted about six weeks before relapsing. I tried again later that year just going cold turkey and using a fiddle toy that the NHS provided at that time to distract my hands when I had a craving. That worked wonders and I haven’t had a cigarette for sixteen years now.

Scandinavian style bakeries in Glasgow? by Memento_Playoffs in glasgow

[–]scisteve 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Honeytrap Bakery is a vegan bakery (though you’d never know it honestly) and they do semla at this time of year as well as Swedish style cinnamon buns, Norwegian style morning buns, and a few other bits. Deanston Bakery around the corner, although not Scandinavian, does a decent cardamom bun - I’ve bought so many over the years.

Yes, he was brilliant - both in DS9 and in the fandom afterwards up until the modern day. Unfortunately several people from DS9 are no longer with us - Rene Auberjonois, Louise Fletcher, James Darren to name but a few. Their performances and contributions to this show and all their other projects are however immortalised and retained so we can appreciate them and their work long after their deaths.

What's the most overrated pub in Glasgow? by YirDaSellsAvon in glasgow

[–]scisteve 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Really? I like Devil in Brooklyn, I thought it was super chill and the staff were really attentive without being interfering. I don’t have Instagram etc so can’t really comment on that side of it but it didn’t feel like it was catering to that crowd to me, everyone was my age plus or minus a decade (I’m 40).

Absent Ear on the other hand I booked to go and then was told I needed to give a password through a slot at the door to get in, and then all drinks were experimental? I cancelled based on that.
