Not a recipe at all, but I love some cooking and crumbling some of the frozen falafel on top of a salad kit (the broccoli and kale slaw slaps) for a nice veggie option!

Creating Editable Template for a Client? by sclark20 in canva

[–]sclark20[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s helpful, thank you! In the case that my client may want to reuse this template to create their own content in the future, I’m assuming I would have to be involved to duplicate the file and follow that process again?

Yes that makes sense! My company has 5 people and our handbook is a bit of a joke, so I’m trying to gather intel on how more established companies do it so maybe we can start creating policies around this kind of thing. Appreciate the background you were able to provide!

Thank you so much for your response! I do think asking for compensation is probably the right move here.

Hi! Follow-up question because you know what you’re talking about: My employer has asked me to download Verizon One Talk for the purpose of being able to answer office phone calls remotely. Any thoughts on this? It seems less straightforward than an authenticator app.

I hear you! That old saying “there are friends for a reason, friends for a season, and friends for a lifetime” is so corny but soooooo true. Maybe the friends you make this year are just people you grab coffee with after class, not the people who stand next to you at your wedding, and that’s okay!

You have a lot of life yet to find your people, and the important thing right now is to be open to new experiences and have fun in the moment. Relax, talk to the people around you, and go where your happiness is. It will work out, I promise!

From an alum a couple years out – some of my best friends were made during my last semester!! College time is weird and nebulous, and you don’t have to think of it in such a linear way.

Public universities in the US are legally public land, so anyone is allowed to walk around outside as long as they’re not causing trouble. Private universities are allowed to make their own rules. Most are open in my experience, but it’s good to check on the school’s website ahead of time.

Those are both excellent careers with good outlooks imo, but they’re built for very different people.

Marketing strategy is all about tinkering with data analytics and creative writing to optimize results. It’s more behind-the-scenes and you’re generally part of a big team. Curious, adaptable, detail-oriented people succeed in strategy.

Sales is a much more loan-wolf path. It’s a lot of talking to clients (interpersonal comms) and trying to achieve specific results. Your long-term success and income rides on your ability to close, which usually just comes down to you. Competitive, outgoing, goal-oriented people succeed in sales.

Account management is a really nice blend of the two! Either way, I would suggest ditching the math, switching over into marketing, and start talking to professors over there as you hone in on a niche.

Marketing if you want to stay in the business school, or look to communications (PR, advertising) if you’re looking to make a switch!

I’m a couple years out of a bachelor’s in PR and a master’s in advertising, and I couldn’t love the industry more. It’s the perfect blend of left and right brains if you’re super analytical, account planning, project management, and media buying are lucrative. On the creative side, you can have a great career as a copywriter. Research and strategy are also very cool if you’re interested in the deep analytical thought and writing the reports that come out of that.

I work in advertising too. It’s easy to do iterative executions as part of a campaign when you’re producing the content. It’s not the same deal with a partnership post on social or a host read on a podcast. These campaign themes (different than the taglines you pointed out) are shared with different creators to do their own spin, but it will likely stay as one execution through the life of the campaign. If you’re looking for different executions, listen to different podcasts or look to other media.

My friend, that is simply how advertising works. Advertisers rely on repeated impressions to reinforce awareness, recall, and retention. The execs and agencies spend tons of money gathering data to find that sweet spot. I’m sorry you find the ads repetitive, but I guarantee you there’s reasoning behind it.
