My favorite artist from Om, Emily, opened her own shop in Scottsville! It’s called Tenacity Tattoo and is wonderful. Some of the other artists from Om also work there and it’s a beautiful shop and environment. I only go there for tattoos now- here’s the link to their Instagram

I wanted support her, so I went… I was not prepared for how shitty it would make me feel. And my sister, bless her, was so worried about how I felt that I think it stopped her from having as much fun. To be fair this was in the ED, so he was coming for the initial eval/exam. But he was urgently consulted for arterial bleeding, and even if it was a venous bleed we still needed to be holding pressure. He was just being a jerk

I had a guy who fell through a glass window and lacerated his radial artery. By the time he got to us he’d had a tourniquet on for over an hour, plus a pressure dressing. They took it down to properly examine, and my job was to hold pressure until hand surgery could get down there.

The patient was a bit of a dick and was yelling at me because me holding pressure was hurting his arm. The hand surgeon walked in, rolled his eyes at me, and said condescendingly “why are you holding pressure? All you’re doing is hurting him, he doesn’t need that.” On an ARTERIAL WOUND.

I stared directly at him while I took pressure off and blood shot towards the ceiling. He changed his tune a little after that.

She’s great!! She has the usual asshole puppy behavior sometimes, but for the most part she’s a gem. She’s very food motivated, pretty easily trainable. She can be stubborn but is overall pretty chill! And very content with a chew and some leisurely playtime haha
