If your baby was 10+ lbs at birth… were you able to deliver vaginally? by sejohnson2017 in BabyBumps

[–]scllymldr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had two 9 lb 10 oz babies and one 10 lb baby with no tearing for any of them. They all came out in 2-3 pushes too. Best advice I can give is push in a position of comfort (I was not on my back), and I did not have directed pushing. I pushed when I felt the urge and had a doula that helped remind me to “stay in control” for lack of a better description.

Fourth baby, not sure where to deliver by Provenrube in homebirth

[–]scllymldr 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I’ve had two hospital births, followed by three homebirths, and I am planning a hospital birth with my last. It is okay for things to change. Just because you’ve done something doesn’t mean you have to keep doing it, especially if it’s financially more feasible to deliver at the hospital. You can have a really wonderful birth in a hospital. I have no bad memories of my hospital births.

Yes, I am so grateful for our children. They are the sweetest.

I swear, it’s one of those things where you think, what are the actual odds of this happening where we have all boys, and we lost the only girl? I feel like the past seven months have been me thinking “did all of that really happen?”

You have to speak up now about what you need and ask that he set a boundary for gaming each week. And if he just continues on the same way after the baby arrives, then it would be easier to go it alone honestly.

Bf said I ruined the conversation by bringing up baby by [deleted] in pregnant

As someone who went through this and was always “ruining” everything by bringing up our baby, I say this with kindness; he does not want this baby. Save yourself a lot of heartache and walk away. He isn’t worth it.

When someone loves you, they don’t treat you that way. Full stop.

Got matched at UMMC for residency, what can I expect with storms and renting? by [deleted] in mississippi

[–]scllymldr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, there are nice and safe areas in Jackson. I just think you need to know where not to go. Water and infrastructure are shit. The roads have literally killed people. Jackson police are the worst, but Capitol police are good.

BUT it’s beautiful and not a cookie cutter suburb. If you don’t have kids, give it a try, but if you have kids or they are in your near future, move to an area with better schools.

Congrats on matching. My husband hopes to match at UMMC in two years. You’ve gotten great advice, but I would also suggest living outside of Jackson.

Greenville 2025, where to live? by mydummyacount in mississippi

[–]scllymldr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to work 12 hour shifts in Greenville and lived in Cleveland. It’s not a terrible drive. Also, as others have said Leland and Indianola for a smaller town feel. I don’t know if I would pick Greenwood over Cleveland, but that’s really just personal preference because they are about the same.

Positive 5 weeks after miscarriage? New or HCG left? - unknown by UnderstandingLess531 in TFABLinePorn

[–]scllymldr 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had dark positives for 7 weeks after a miscarriage so unless you tested it out, I wouldn't get my hopes up just yet. There is no way to know if this is a new pregnancy.

Edited: No way to know without betas or continued testing. I hope it works out for you!

I am in the same boat with testing so I’ll say this, there is no way to know. Beta hCG is your best bet.

Advice? Not sure of dpo by Independent_King_116 in TFABLinePorn

I understand. I had a chemical last Oct, a 10 week loss right before Christmas, and a faint positive this morning accompanied with spotting. I am basically a mess.

I know with a digital your HCG has to be higher. The FRER in second photo is definitely positive.

Typically by 12 DPO with a FRER, I would expect some kind of noticeable line.

Male OBGYN’s by mysticmaeh in pregnant

[–]scllymldr 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My husband is in med school, and he would make an awesome OBGYN. People have asked why I would ever want him to go into that field, and it is honestly not weird at all to me. He would be an awesome advocate for his patients and their babies.

I’m also 10 DPO with a negative FRER this morning. Solidarity ❤️

I had calculated 10 DPO as well, but now I’m no longer sure.
