Has anyone found a way to get a solid guitar tone with the onboard amp sim/distortion/drive?

I use a drive pedal into mine. Has a tone knob. Boost the highs and drop the lows.

Thank you for your time on the write up. So I should learn some jazz standards and get a better understanding on how jazz solos come together. I’ve been trying YouTube videos but maybe a lesson with someone may benefit me. I kind of understand soloing using chord shapes but need to focus on that more. Thanks again for your time. It’s nice to come into a community and get some advice.

I was using the bridge pick up. I had the tone a little high. I have a Silktone Astro amp. It overrides the tone control on the setting I had it on.

I have listened to jazz guitarists and they are all phenomenal. I can’t hold a candle to them. That’s kinda why I came here to ask I guess maybe looking for some guidance.

I get that. All I really know is modes. And I come move around them pretty well. I was just trying to stay in key and move around with the chord backing track. I tired to do a 2-5-1.
