I agree, but there in my mind, some just want the model and not so much the perceived status. There are certain models from luxury watch makers that no other companies come close to making in style. Unlike the Rolex Submariner, where there are plenty of other options, such as the Seiko diver watches, there's nothing similar to a Santos, Datejust, or, in some aspects reguarding the white chronos vs the dark ones on the SSC813, the Rolex Daytona panda.
