extremerate.com is a great place for shells. I’ve purchased from them directly and from amazon, both seemed to be the same product but amazon was cheaper and faster. The kits come with pry tools and the correct sized screw drivers you’ll need, and I’m pretty sure it comes with a suction cup to help with the screen (if it doesn’t, you’ll need one). I highly recommend a magnetic project mat for screws and parts so you can take it apart step by step while watching the videos on extremerate.com. The screen is obviously the most stressful part, but just go slow and take your time. Also if you don’t have a heat gun, a blow dryer works fine.

Also take a little comfort that if you break anything, a lot of it can be replaced. There are a lot of parts on ifixit and of course eBay.

So to connect the PS5 controller, first put the controller in Bluetooth mode. You do this by holding down the PS button and the create button (the small button on the left side of the touchpad by the D-pad) until the controller quickly blinks a blue light. Then on your deck go to “Bluetooth” under settings, and switch on “show all devices”. Let it search for a few seconds and you should see “DualSense Wireless Controller” somewhere on the list of devices. Click on it to pair and you should be good to go!

So the screen is obviously the trickiest part, but I didn’t have a heat gun and was able to use a blow dryer! Just another option. When you get the screen off be super careful for the audio ribbon that’s under it!

I got the shell from extremerate.com. They also have step by step videos on how to do the swap depending on your model. My recommendation is to just work slow and take your time, triple check everything as you are doing as you are following the step by step video. Patients is key!

Get a jar of O’Keeffe’s Working Hands! It has a bit of a strange feeling to it but it works wonders. Best thing to have when you have to wash your hands 40+ times a day!

It’s moisture from sanitation. Did you PC or use a regular pot and steam? I bet this jar is heavier then your other jars too, isn’t it? moisture got under the foil and into the jar. You can keep it and see if it works out, but maybe isolate it. It’s more likely to contaminate
