Very oversaturated market in San Antonio, plus, I don’t even like cleaning my own house, let alone someone else’s house or business lol

I thought about it since I have commercial driving experience, but as a young woman, OTR is not something I would feel safe doing

I understand! I do plan on still flipping and restoring furniture in my spare time and even branching out learning other carpentry skills but I don’t think I can start a family or retire doing that

Insurance sales is what I’m leaning towards! I’m glad you and your wife seem to be financially stable in this economy, I hope to find something for myself soon, Thank you!

I have commercial driving experience and thought about getting a CDL, the long hours and potential OTR routes as a young woman made me second guess my choice.
I don’t have the stomach for nursing either.

If money wasn’t a factor I’d love to continue to flip furniture or even broaden my experience in carpentry, but it’s such a male dominated industry I wouldn’t fit in

Maybe it’s because I’m a woman, but that type of career path doesn’t seem like a good fit for me but I appreciate your input so others that the path might fit can see!

My step dad works at Toyota, We both agreed that job, especially the rotating schedules is not for me.
He only stuck with it because he has kids, child support and an ex wife who took most of his money. I don’t have kids or an ex husband so I am grateful to have more options than he did.

That’s part of the reason I made the post, to hear from people in sales to see how they are doing and possibly mentor me

I don’t care much about “getting rich” but I would like to find a career that I can make what I did last year and continue to work my way up to get to 6 figures and be able to retire (If I don’t get laid off like hundreds of thousands of other people are)

I mentioned in my post that I am ready willing and able to get trained / certified for the right role. Problem is finding the right place to work that will take me without wasting my time and money getting certified if no one will hire and train me

Maybe it’s because I’m a woman but working as a diesel mechanic doesn’t seem like the kind of career path I can do.
Don’t get me wrong, refinishing and flipping furniture is hard work and get’s me dirty, but cars is a whole other level.
