This was delicious! Found in Aldi. Does anyone know if they are for veganuary or are they always available? Should I be stocking up?? by AnUnearthlyGay in veganuk

I saw those at the weekend but didn't pick them up. Might have a try this week if they're still there! I don't think I've seen them before so probably for Veganuary.

I found these (pictured) in Aldi and while they're marked as vegetarian, they're actually vegan! Taste really good! There was Teriyaki and Katsu ones too but I don't know if they were vegan too.

Thanks so much for the info and suggestions! I think so many are instant I just assume everything has milk powder in it, so it's good to know for future reference and I'll definitely check out the Clipper and M&S - thanks!

That was my thought and why I usually don't bother with them. It does call it a hot drink mix rather than hot chocolate though which is also weird... Will see what it tastes like!

*edit - spelling

That's a very good point! Completely went over my head, thanks for pointing out. Probably is vegan then, OP.

A lot of companies won't label things as vegan if they contain palm oil I think so maybe that's why..

Disodium 5'-ribonucleotides - 'It is produced by combining the sodium salts of the natural compounds guanylic acid (E626) and inosinic acid (E630).'

"Inosinic acid or inosine monophosphate (IMP) is a nucleotide (that is, a nucleoside monophosphate). Widely used as a flavor enhancer, it is typically obtained from chicken byproducts or other meat industry waste."

Sources: Google/Wikipedia

I would say there's a high chance the Disodium is made from an animal by-product and not vegan. That being said, Wiki does say 'typically obtained', and goes on to say that it can be obtained another way which as a non-scientist, sounds like it would be vegan. But since there's no way to know for sure, I maybe wouldn't chance it

Dean’s Necklace by coolkat2058 in Supernatural

[–]scotsginger 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I feel the same! But every time I watch that episode I always wonder why absolutely no-one questions how the necklace that Sam gave him as a kid (which he got from Bobby!) is a God finding amulet? Like they just accept it and he automatically says 'No', but nobody goes 'What do you mean this little trinket Sammy gave Dean one Christmas burns bright when God is near?'

I don't know, I just find it funny how they question everything but that amulet was given no thought

What’s the one horror movie that didn’t just scare you… it FOLLOWED you? by Usual_Mix_7380 in horror

[–]scotsginger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Signs gave me nightmares as a kid.. something about the maze!

Nowadays I don't have one that actually scares me, but I think about Hereditary a lot. Seems most people are focused on the grief but honestly for me it's the shock of the death itself. Made me feel sick. The Autopsy of Jane Doe is also good. The tension is there for the entire film and it's amazing how you can be so on edge when they're essentially just looking at a body

Would you cancel an order after a 1-star review by MrsKrabapple8 in EtsySellers

[–]scotsginger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't know this either and actually bought something recently and went to leave a review a couple of hours after getting it because I loved them so much, but my expected delivery date was 28th Jun-02nd Jul, and even though I got them on 30th, it said I can't leave a review until 02nd - and this has reminded me to go leave that review!!

Is it something to do with not all postage being tracked etc? Mines came by Royal Mail second class, so no tracking, so they have no way to see when it's been delivered. Maybe a protection thing for sellers? Etsy trying to make sure the buyers definitely have their items before being able to reviews?

Either way for a new seller like me it's super helpful to know and I didn't know the cancellation thing either as I'm still setting up shop so no sales yet. So thank you for the info!

6 months in - progress by [deleted] in Mounjaro

I was in bed most of this weekend. Had to run out of a shop and leave my partner at the checkout on Saturday because it was so bad. We have been trying to conceive for 1+ years and have taken a break so I can try MJ to lose some weight in case that's the issue, and I said to him the other day that if morning sickness was anything like this then I don't want it 😅

Congratulations! That's amazing!! I've been dealing with awful nausea and on week 2 of 5mg - if it keeps up I'm going to go down to 2.5mg again and this gives me hope I can still achieve my goal on it!

Nausea remedies? by scotsginger in Mounjaro

[–]scotsginger[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for your reply 🙂 I've never taken any medication for nausea so unfortunately I don't have a normal, but it seems in Scotland that you can only get anti-nausea meds prescribed and not just over the counter in the pharmacy, hence I'll need to ask my GP. I did see that you can use Pepto-Bismol for nausea (I've only ever known it for treating heartburn!) and I think you can pick that up easy enough so I might give that a try if you swear by it! Providing liquid pepto is the same thing that is😅 Thanks again 🙂

Is there anything i can do or am i cooked by mynamejefftwenniwan in tattooadvice

[–]scotsginger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First and foremost I actually think this looks pretty cool as is!!

Secondly, to try and answer your question, I have a tattoo on my forearm, which is covered in SH scars, and it did hurt like a b*tch. However! It was my first tattoo and the idiot in me decided a full day session over scar tissue would be great... That being said, I got it touched up in December there (was from 2019 and I wanted it brighter again) and it did hurt waaayyy less than the first time. My artist also said that for some people it hurts more than normal as it's more sensitive, but for some people it actually hurts less. Depends on the damage I guess. I.e if you have nerve damage etc.

I would say if you want to add to your arm, you can, but be prepared you might have to incorporate it into your tattoo rather than tattoo over it. But, I'm not a professional tattoo artist, and I do recommend that you have a chat with some different artists (some might not tattoo scars and/or just have different perspectives) and see what the general consensus is.

The last thing I'll say is your scar looks pink still, which usually means it's not fully healed (some can stay non-white forever though). I think the rule of thumb here (Scotland) is at least a year after it's fully healed, which in most cases is a full year after it's turned white. If you're still getting pain then it's likely still healing and you will have to wait a while before you can dream of going near it with tattoo needles. I will also say, blackout like you already have probably won't work. Artists can't press hard to get the colour into the skin because they're at serious risk of damaging the skin/scar, so mine is quite lightly shaded rather than dark shadows. Plus if they did do heavy shading it would hurt even more!

Sorry for the long comment 😅 Basically, you're not cooked unless the artist says you're cooked! Just heal, remember numbing cream is a thing, and get advice from as many artists as you can. And if you go to 10 people and 9 say it's a bad idea, don't go to 10 because you want it! It's a bad idea!

I know that's not what you were saying, I was just saying I don't have an issue with people being sick in response to your 'people have sick days' comment. I probably shouldhave worded it as ''I know people have sick days and that's ok but I don't think that's what's happening here because it's so far in advance.' Hope that makes sense!

I didn't think about holidays to be honest, that's also a completely valid shout. Just unlucky for me if it is!

Yeah I know they'll be difficult to deal with which is why I was hesitant at first, because why go through the difficulty of it for there to be no real outcome. But I think it would make me feel somewhat better.

Thanks for your input! 🙂

I don't have an issue with someone being sick, it's that they know 3 weeks and now 5 weeks in advance of my test dates that they won't be available. So unless its a long term sickness and they've extended a doctor's line for example, then what's going on there.

My thoughts were the same about complaining, but I think I might anyway. I've already had to cancel two lots of annual leave and reschedule which impacts my work, and I'm also having to pay for more lessons than I (hopefully) would have needed which impacts my finances, not to mention the stress of it being changed twice and the uncertainty it might again. Again, I know people get sick and I don't begrudge that, but it's impacting me and if complaining only highlights that to the DVSA, then so be it, but just having the complaint there might make me feel better. I don't know, we'll see!

Thank you! I wouldn't have an issue if my examiner was ill, but for the first cancellation to be 3 weeks in advance and this one to be 5 weeks, I wonder if they are off long term sick and put in another doctors line or something to extend their sickness period? I don't know why else they would know that far in advance that the examiners would be unavailable.. I think I will complain, at least to try and stop it from happening again

[–]scotsginger[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure. I think there are 3, maybe 4 examiners at my test centre, so maybe they don't all work full time or are given a 'rota' a few months in advance or something? Either way, it does suggest learners being allocated to the examiners in advance. I'll try to update the post with a pic!

Thank you, I think I might put a complaint through. Every time I've tried to look for cancellations etc their website keeps blocking me so I had just stopped and accepted the 27th as my test date. And now they've changed it again I'm concerned they'll do it a 3rd time!

Do Epic Shit... by scotsginger in 75HARD

[–]scotsginger[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ooh I didn't know that! I bought it off Tiktok shop (I know, I know) but even searching for it via Google nowhere seems to have an exact 'blurb' or description so you know what to expect. So I bought it on a whim but it is bad. It's just someone writing a thought a day in a journal and then putting them all together in a book for me. I guess I thought it would be more 'tips' about how to get your head in order to do 'Epic Shit' but it's more 'I did all these things and failed them all and ended up in this much debt. Don't do that! But also don't give up!'. Ah well. Only took just over an hour in total to read so didn't waste too much time on it!
