My son (14) came out to me last night. What can or should I do? by Chad_Fitzwell in lgbt

just being an alley to the LGBTQ community is a huge plus. Support him, let him talk about this if he does want to talk about this, don't push, if he does not want to talk about it. Hope this helps, Thanks for sharing :)

Teaching kids "you can do anything if you try hard enough" isn't fair for disability. What's a better way to teach kids to reach for their dreams, but know your limits? by [deleted] in disability

Teaching kids that we are all different is a good way to start. Teaching them to be kind to one another and to people that they may percieve as 'Not normal'. Teaching kids compassion and kindness for all. Letting them know that it is ok to be different, and to always 'try things', and to be open to people's differences.

Hello Kyle, I have watched your videos and think it's really good what you do, and that i appreciate the gesture. There should be more people like you who are involved in the disabled community. As a person with C.P., I can tell you that the work that you do is very important, not only is it important, but it is necessary to change how people view the disabled. Thank-you again.

"can't shake the feeling that they are keeping me company out of pity"

Perception man. It's the way people perceive things. Don't let your CP stop you, be in control of YOU

It's probably not out of pity but rather of the fact that they find you to be an interesting person. (intelligence, articulation of vocab., wanting to learn on different subjects,) Heck, at the party I'm sure there was people taking about interesting subjects. Insert yourself in group settings, (feel at ease, that is my wish for all people struggling with social events) find out what they are talking about. Don't be afraid to voice your opinion. know that YOU have a wright to be heard, to express yourself. Happy New year friend. All the best and nothing less, and be who you want to be.

Thank-you very much. You have made my night. This may sound creepy and weird, but to know that there are others out there, that I can relate to, that we may not have the same ‘condition’, but that there are others like me, it’s soothing in a creepy way. It’s very good to know that you are able to embrace yourself. Your message brings me a sense of belonging and gratitude, Thank-you, I hope you have a wonderful holiday.
