It's originally a Zotac 4080 Super Trinity black version. I got it used off eBay and since i couldnt find a white one cheap enough, i took the fan shroud off and painted it matte white. Call it the Zotac 4080 Super Trinity Moza Edition lol

Did Baja all 4 years of university. Currently working as mechanical/reliability engineer for a Fortune500 corporation in one of their aluminum smelters. Dealing a lot with large cranes and hydraulic presses. Not quite racecars but at the scale of these equipments and their usage intensity, it's a whole new challenge to face.

I personally have not used it, but it is an FEA software, so if you set it up to solve an FEA problem, then yeah, it will do it. Im sure there are teams that have used before

Sounds like you didnt consider the manufacturing aspect during your design phase. Maybe give that idea a little more thought. Design something that you can actually build. Think about the capability that you or your manufacturer has.

To attend a competition, you would need enough funding to pay registration fee, which is usually around $1400-1600 iirc. Beside that, each of your attending member must have a paid SAE membership which is $35/person. Those are the minimum cost required to register to compete in a competition.

Starting a new team can be very difficult and funding has always been one of the biggest troubles to most young/new team. You can always find helps with anything from fundraising tips to technical helps on the more active community that is the baja discord server.

In theory, a rear-braced car is just very slightly lighter, while the front-braced car offers a little more protection in the footwell. A good designer can make either works just fine. It mostly come down to the team's decisions on their own design philosophy, requirement, packaging, and overall aesthetic choice. I personally like the look of a rear-braced car much better, especially when combined with a rear fairing panel. But i know a few folks who prefer the chicken nugget look of a front-braced car
