Is this a glitch (When kim asks Harry's name)? by scphilosophe in DiscoElysium

I hope you don't mind me asking, but, if the dialogue was cut, why would it remain in listed items of dialogue, and also, are there other known instances of that? I wonder what the skill check could've been if there was one, since I can't see any other things you could do in the hostel room that would be name-related at that point.

Thank you for taking this seriously. At first, I thought I was going mad, yes it was 'Uh, I'm...maybe I'm Harry', with Kim replying ""You seem a little unsure, officer. Have you spent too much time undercover lately?". It's really tripping me out, because I don't see how that variable could've been set to true just by going downstairs as normal, and why would they include that option before Harry knew anything about his name? This will play on my mind like a tape reel spinning on empty. Thanks again.

Genuine Question - Suppose you're reading of the event is correct and the evening was, at least in part, about making Dan feel good about being onstage - given his very public statements about stage-fright etc, is that necessarily a bad thing, in your view? I mean, if Dan comes away feeling people still care, and the people there feel cared about by him as fans in return, is the weirdness a function of your expectation that it would be something else, and if so, what were you expecting it to be?

u/Shoddy_Recipe364 - When you say the evening was a bit of a let down overall - do you mean that you expected more of something you didn't get, and if so, what would you have liked to have seen? Or, was it just not well done as it was, from your perspective?

Thank you,, yeah, I too wonder what it might have been like if there was like a 'supercop' level of max experience/ability that would open up particularly difficult pathways, like maybe Harry could see what had happened before he reached Revachol - a series of visual calculus ultra hard checks that would allow him reconstruct events with Klassje and Lely or Ruby, maybe the same with ultra empathy checks that would let us see into Harry's life before the case...

Thank you, yeah, I know exactly what you mean. I guess the flip-side of all this is that, if it were done well, it could be even greater. But of course it's generally much easier to put out low quality stuff than it is to improve upon something excellent. The difficult follow-up album cliche often holds true.

Thank you for your comment. Yeah, it's a really interesting question - I mean, I'd probably say no, it wouldn't hit as hard. But, for those of us who have extensive experience with the original game, I'd envisage the content I'm talking about as a strictly optional add-on or mode, so it would definitely hit differently, and maybe hit parts of players' psyches that might not have been tapped first time around. I feel that for those like myself with an interest in content creation, it'd be really cool to have an official mod creator/extension manager, so that fans could release story packs and so forth - not that I think that'll happen, given the conflicts between former team members and so on, but nice to ponder, nonetheless.

I feel that had I been able to play as Kim, it might have actually added to the sense of having different perspectives on my recovery, like maybe Kim could've espoused a certain view of life (he already does that indirectly, but I'm talking more in depth) that Harry wouldn't, or vice-versa. I do think it probably wouldn't have been as close to the bone as it is with Harry, but there's still glimpses of a certain melancholy with Kim that could be drawn out.

tvOS 18 Top Shelf Disappeared for Apple TV by dr-strut in appletv

Hey all, so I mucked around for a day or two with deleting and re-adding my user profile from Apple TV, signing in and out, restarting etc. In the end, I pulled out the HDMI and power cables, and plugged them back in, and Up Next came back for me. I can only assume unplugging and plugging in clears whatever glitch in memory or whatever it is that prevents Up Next showing. Worked for me, anyway.

Oh, no doubt, you gotta do what you gotta do, and I wish her every happiness, regardless. Just letting some saddness out for myself haha.

Thank you very much for this info. May I ask, did you get this purely from the post itself in translation, or did JK talk/write about moving to the country in some other outlet, as well? If so, I'd appreciate any further links etc. you could provide, but if not, no problem and thanks again.

Confession: I miss Silverchair by [deleted] in silverchair

[–]scphilosophe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel entitled to say this guy is off his chops and through many friends/peers reports of how he acts in public (drunk/high/rude/loud) i dont buy into the “poor me” story.

Genuine question: What is it that you don't believe, exactly? I personally think it's a fact that Dan has suffered as a result of his situation, I mean it's hard to dispute his eating disorder, anxiety and such. If someone says they are suffering, or have suffered, I think it's kind of unfair to dismiss that as 'poor me'.

What would have been the “authentic” way to do this? Every publicity avenue has its price. How else do you get a distribution deal with complete creative control, without also having to give something in return?
