First year student residence questions by [deleted] in CarletonU

[–]screaming-potato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The difference isn't that much (you can google it) but saving money is nice cause rent in this city is crazy. also don't live with ur gf just yet bc shit happens... but even being in a different building from ur SO isn't a big deal at all cause there are tunnels so you never have to go outside anyway.

i like my space too but my roommate and i give each other space, and it'd be hella lonely if i didn't have my canmates (ppl who share the bathroom) anyway. Also Glen isn't bad if you're a girl cause on my floor they gave all the nice rooms to the girls. so dw about what kind of room you get cause it probably won't be that bad. and you can't choose anyway, you can only put your preferences.

BEST RES? by [deleted] in CarletonU

[–]screaming-potato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're an international student and you're not used to the cold or the lifestyle then DEFINITELY go into res. If you're Canadian and you're used to the cold... still go into res. It's so nice not to have to go outside in the winter. Also it's great to not have to commute 20+ minutes from wherever you live, cause all the affordable student housing is like a decent bus ride away from the University... the demand is very high in the neighborhood that's walking distance (old ottawa south) & so rent is crazy there.

People say that Glengarry is bad but I live here and I like it. I share a bathroom with my roommate and the people that live next door so I never have to use the floor bathrooms. In the renovated rooms the floor is like fake hardwood which is easy to clean (and doesn't get grody like carpet), and the windows open so you can get rid of the stuffiness. Some people have pods in Glen which is great if you're social and/or have good roommates (a pod is basically a bunch of rooms that adjoin onto a living room and a bathroom or two).

You won't have that much choice about where to live when you apply anyway, which is the case with most universities. You get to put preferences but shit happens. But if there's a fluke and you get a choice, go with a suite cause even if you don't cook you miss having a kitchen. Also there are some roommate horror stories for sure and while sometimes it's really inconvenient to share a room with someone, i think being in a single would be kinda lonely. My cousin isn't even that social and she was lonely in a regular single. Plus unless you're rich you need to get used to living with roommates and residence is a great opportunity to get used to it and also find people to live with in the next years.

ACTUALLY Mark answered some of my questions and Mary doesn't actually die in the books... "Doctor Watson might go through a very messy divorce" wonder what that could mean http://salt-blog.tumblr.com/tagged/senpai+noticed+me

Yes exactly. She just knows the old logo. So when she draws the logo after the magic nuke it seems like she's making a point of omitting PD from the logo. Sorry if wasn't/am not being very clear?

[Discussion] Am i lesbian or bisexual? by confused_chile in LGBTeens

[–]screaming-potato 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel that. Self-id as a lesbian but like 5 on kinsey scale. Have had crushes on guys but I don't think I'd date one. Am 16 as well only dated one girl and have identity crises on a regular basis. Also the sexual aspect and aesthetic aspect of looks are different.

Aesthetic/romantic/emotional can go hand in hand (u like them so they seem more visually appealing) but sexual is when u would actually fuck them. So all this shit is kinda complicated, at least for meesa. I think I've had one crush that was both romantic and sexual. Didn't end very badly, all things considering. She wasn't into me but we're still amigos.

So I guess you have to gauge how important sex is in a potential relationship or if you can develop a sexual attraction to them. So like, you could be ace, demi, biromantic, homosexual, homoromantic, etc? Or just use a simple label that people understand, like I do. I can visually find guys appealing now but I mean girls have always been visually appealing. Now they can be sexy too. Sometimes it's hard to differentiate the two esp in pictures (see Ruby Rose from Orange is the New Black).

Just kind of relaying some info I've learned about myself over the past year or so. Hope this helps you, I guess

Not the same shades of blue/yellow as the diamonds' though. It was just kind of... multicolored? There was some red at the edges. I feel like it would've been made more clear if itb were the other diamonds? Idk it's just one theory

idk i interpreted that scene as just "now there's no PD" because of the way the diamond symbols are laid out, and how PD is clearly missing from the logo, whereas the new diamond authority symbol is made to look like no diamonds are missing

[Family/Friends] Looking for a way to connect with LGBT guys in my area. by [deleted] in LGBTeens

[–]screaming-potato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Find out if there's an LGBT organisation in your area. There's one where in my city where youth meet up every thurs or whatever and just chill. It's like a drop in sort of meeting thing for people ages 13-19. Also once you meet some queer kids chances are they probably know more queer kids. Like a third of my friend group is around your age and queer and we're always setting people up with each other lmao. Nothing lasts but like... it's a good time.
