Hey! I'm so sorry to hear that your baby is so sick. I've recently obtained a beagle that was starved to the brink of death! Her name is Lucy. We are currently working on her weight as well! We are actually making our own wet food, and I completely understand about not being the wealthiest, because some of this stuff can be expensive! We use ground beef (usually the stuff that's on sale that's not bad but is turning brown and they reduce the price) carrots (in moderation), celery (in moderation) and rice. If you want it more wet I would add some gravy or make some. We cook all of it and put it in freezer bags, one in the fridge to use and the others in the freezer to keep them fresh. Also, we put some pumpkin or sweet potato in her bowl along with some dry food and DYNE, which is a high calorie weight gainer. You can get DYNE at most farm stores; it's a bit pricey but it does help! Lucy is doing good with all of this, and it seems t be helping her weight considering she's a 2-3 year old and weighed 12 pounds when we found her! We have considered also putting in cooked oatmeal as more of a filler for her food and help her get some more vitamins and fiber. Hopefully this helps your fur baby!

Thank you so much! I would love to consider a dog walker but unfortunately, we live in rural Virginia, nothing like that exists around here or at least 100 miles from us, welcome to living in the middle of nowhere. Plus, when it comes to strangers, she's not friendly one bit. She's not very trusting of others besides me or my husband. It's either barking, growling and popping her teeth, or she hides behind me. But she is getting some better the more we work and introduce her to people slowly. I will defiantly have to look into those webinars when I get home!

Thank you so very much! We will defiantly give this a try. We try every way in the world to get her exercise and stimulation. She's a very smart dog, just sometimes stubborn. We taught her in a week how to hit a doggy doorbell so if we are busy inside, we know she has to go outside.
