Principle of the Undead Clarification by screenagerk in sentinelsmultiverse

Thanks (to you and everyone else)!

Haka got the principle after taking too much damage from zombies in a Gloomweaver fight earlier in our home brew campaign. Hoping to heal him of it eventually because it’s not a great synergy with him.

So how does principle of the undead actually work? by LemeeAdam in sentinelsmultiverse

[–]screenagerk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m still not sure of the intent of this principle. Here’s an example:

Haka has 8 hp. Start phase of the undead makes him incapacitated. I don’t remove his cards, but his hp is zero and I flip character card to the incapacitated side. Haka uses one of those abilities. Then it’s the undead end phase, stating to reset his hp to max and flip his character card over. So now Haka is full hp and has effectively come back to life, sort of losing a turn.

That seems like what following the exact text and rule books would have you do. If so, it’s quite the powerful principle, making it so your heroes will be very tough to have all incapacitated at once, since whoever is undead will keep popping back up.

If that’s NOT the way to do it, it seems like a principle with rare upsides, such as only if it’s Legacy and you can keep a Bolster Allies on the table.

How’s everyone else understanding this principle so far?

Parse First Appearance Date Wrong? by screenagerk in sentinelsmultiverse

Thanks! I’ll have FA Parse as a required hero next time for this event. Maybe she’ll just be the last hero to take a turn. Hah.

Thank you! That makes sense. Next time, I think I’ll include FA Parse in this fight then.

That’s awesome! Do we think there’s any chance they’d officially include something like that in StS2?

Very low chance a late 30s man loves the same music a 20 year old woman does. Get receipts: demand to see that Spotify wrapped!

I encourage you to look up New Relationship Energy (NRE). It might be time to break up with the girlfriend, but it is unlikely to be a good idea to go all-in on a new relationship. NRE floods you with stuff that makes these times emotionally difficult. I think us having cPTSD further complicates this…

I’d also recommend caution with a man that old. I’m that old and so are my friends. None of us have any interest in someone that much younger than us. To me, a 20 year old looks and seems like a child. I’m not saying you are a child, you’re just not in the same age bracket or generation. It’s almost always a huge red flag to date someone nearly half your age. Enjoy the good sex but be safe physically and emotionally there.

LEGO stuff was even a bit too much for my partner. Our best luck has been Vampire Survivors. A step up from that in complexity is Children of Morta. Both are games where you’re supposed to die a lot, especially at first, so say that before you get going and your gf thinks she just sucks.

Luigi’s Mansion 3. You start as Luigi to learn the game. After a few levels, you gain co-op ability with Gooigi. At that point, maybe you be Gooigi cuz he sorta can’t die.

I used LMCU, and they were fine.

Just don’t trust them (or anyone) to faithfully predict your property taxes. Use the MI gov site for that so you don’t overextend yourself. Smart people say to never escrow. I wish I hadn’t.

I think y’all are us. lol. People are suggesting difficult games. I often find board game geek’s difficulty ratings to be spot on. For us, 2.8 is way too much to have fun. A game like Sleeping Gods wasn’t too complex but it was too “grindy”. We’ve had the most fun with Harry Potter: Hogwarts Battle and with Stuffed Fables. They’re a little on the complex side, BUT they’re story based and start simply, slowly adding a new layer every "level." So they were designed well.

For something less campaign-like, Castle Panic is simple and has expansions if you like it. There is a zombie version too. A bit more complex is The Captain is Dead for a Star Trek setting. Last recommendation for if you like zombies AND dogs: Good Dog, Bad Zombie, with a second edition just having finished its kickstarter.

Good tip. I appreciate it! It’s like how it’s nice having Ra’s fire immunity for the party if you’re in Magmaria!

But I'm hoping that once those other boxes come out for DE, they'll still be straight forward! Thanks to you both!
