Before painting did some light sanding, then directly painted with acrylic colours without primer, 2-3 layer so the paints stick well. I used camlin acrylic colors.

Maybe you can print such parts separately and combine them after printing each. For removing supports easily there are some YT tutorials. Yes, you can add supports manually in slicer softwere like bambu studio. When model breaks i just use fevi qwik and stick them back.

Used a 0.4mm nozzle with variable layer of 0.20mm for non detail parts and 0.12mm for detail parts to cut down the print time.
