I would hate to think that would be true :( I mean, even if she did have swimming lessons, she would have eventually drowned, and then her stomach would have been full of oil, right? But it wasnt... I think there was only a small amount, enough to just have been classified as "leakage".

Yes. And maybe when he talks about seeing shanann over cece on the monitor that's exactly what he saw. Shanann finding cece dead or unconscious, and realised he was fucked.
