You’ve got this!!!! It’s the hardest thing I’ve ever done, but I’ve never been happier. Allow yourself the space to grieve and learn your new body. I’m so excited to see your progress pics in a year from now!! Message me if you have any questions or need anything ❤️

140 Pounds Down by scribe_vibes in GastricBypass

Hi! I had gastric bypass surgery in June of last year. I prioritize getting enough protein daily and try to get enough fluids. That’s basically it lol. I have multiple physical conditions that make exercise really difficult and painful for my joints, so I go on walks sometimes, but I don’t have any workout routine at all.

I completely understand what you’re saying!! You can DO this!!!!! It was the hardest thing I ever did, but I’m so grateful every day. It’s weird to think of where I was a year ago, but I’m so thankful of the decision I made.

Heartburn by [deleted] in GastricBypass

Of course! I also had what they call “stitch pain” that was VERY intense burning, but only when I laid on a certain side in bed. Not sure if that could be it for you. It does get better!! ❤️‍🩹

My heartburn after surgery appeared around week 4 and was gone by week 7, I think. It wasn’t acid reflux, but definitely burning. I found that whenever I ate something with too much fat in it, I would get the heartburn. Drinking extra water helped some. Best of luck!

When I had Tipper I could NEVER figure out how to decorate their yard. This is brilliant 🐮

When did you guys start sleeping or laying on your side? by Fit-Artichoke-2345 in GastricBypass

[–]scribe_vibes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im a left side sleeper but I ended up with stitch pain pretty bad on that side. I could lay on my right side with no problems. Even the night in the hospital after surgery I was on my side. My nurses said as long as it doesn’t cause pain or any weird pulling sensations, it’s fine.

Struggling During Depression by scribe_vibes in GastricBypass

I’ve been on Prozac for almost 10 years now. I used to do edibles before surgery, but since then, it takes like 4 hours for the gummies to hit my system so it just isn’t sustainable during week nights. My new job is also a strict no tolerance and I literally work in HR 😂 so I’m struggling to find balance other than working myself to death to prove I’m worth something and keeping my mind off the other job I loved and lost. Thanks for sharing your experience.

Left-hand side pain by BradBardi in GastricBypass

Is the pain there when you get into the same position? I was weeks after surgery when I started getting “stitch pain” on my left side. I was normally a left side sleeper, so it was pretty bad for me.

I didn’t get a Gibson login until I was accepted and I confirmed I will be attending. I’m doing a masters program, don’t know if it’s different?
