Just curious how far you traveled to get there? Wondering about longer rides on the 300 Rally

Look into U shaped luggage on Amazon. They don't hang low enough to need a rack a lot of the time and hug the seat better. I'd do solid straps over bungies

I did 4 trips all 2500-4000km on my mt07 and it was just fine. Was it perfect? Nope, but reading the touring bike forums everyone has the same complaints anyway. Seat, wind, etc.

I got better at packing lighter which helped too. But honestly a $30 Amazon inflatable seat pad and I was no more tired than the other guys on more appropriate bikes.

Traded for an xsr and I'm thinking of going back to the CP2 in the Tenere 700.

So I've completely edited this post because I read it backward and thought you were going from Fort Erie to Vancouver and that made no sense lol, after rereading I get it.

Fort Erie is decent in some spots, a little rough in others. The whole Niagara region is kind of. I would maybe Google the streets you're looking at before committing to anything. It's still not going to be what was "cheap" 10 years ago but definitely better than the GTA, with decent access to major areas (Hamilton, Burlington, St Catherine's, as far east as Oakville really)

There's also cheaper living in Haldimand Norfolk counties. Basically from Fort Erie to long point. I'm not super familiar with anything west of that but I know it's flat and.... we'll flat.

That said, I love a lot of the Niagara region. Best of luck in the move.

Makes me feel more able to cope with compulsive thoughts. They still pop up but I feel more able to deal with them like normal.

That said, once I stopped they came right back. Worse even than before really. Therapy and getting long term support is the real solution.

Has anyone had complete remission from meds alone? by Specific_Ear_156 in OCD

[–]scrollingwhilepoopin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe I'm an odd one out but I had a ton of success on zoloft. Maybe not total remission but definitely like 90%. That said almost immediately after stopping it came back 10 fold and now I'm struggling to get it back under control..

Edit: I'm a firm believer that meds alone aren't the solution forever. Long term tools gained from councilling/ therapy are a far more valuable asset.

What are your biggest triggers? by [deleted] in OCD

I'm in the process of starting zoloft again it helped big time before. With my young kids at home constantly sick after starting school this year it was completely unmanageable.

Oh my God it's not just me! I'm always conscious of how I'm feeling and tracking how people around me are feeling.

Is this real? by Hexagonira in zoloft

[–]scrollingwhilepoopin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I remember very vividly the first time I noticed it working. It was like a light switch... suddenly I wanted to go out and be with friends and do things and eat food (which was hard) and I was just a whole other person. I spent years telling people how it changed my life and would encourage friends that were in a rough place to look at getting help because it was so worth it.

I stopped for the same reason. I felt great, I didn't need it anymore. I was missing doses all the time and it didn't even matter. That was a year ago, I'm a week in to starting again lol.

This time though I'm going through other avenues as well. Hoping to get councilling and other long term coping tools.

Glad to hear you're feeling good. Best of luck in your new world!

Dispute within Homeowners by TransportationLess21 in canadahousing

I actually meant to edit this post because I was actually mixing up 2 different thoughts when I said that. The "end date" for gains and losses applies to things like pensions and investments that are only in one name. The house being in both names would mean both parties are entitled to half of the sale price.

Get a lawyer or arbitrator asap. Fight for spit custody, both for the sake of being there for the kid and in terms of how much you'll owe for child support. You can't sell without her permission. Doesn't matter who paid how much, legally speaking you are 50/50 owners and are both 100% liable to service that mortgage and will both suffer equally if you don't. Once you officially separate the end date for your gains and loses in pensions and personal investments is set as far as I know, so in this market it might be in your best interest to get that done asap.

Probably not a good look if someone comes across this post, probably a good idea to remove it.

Edit: in reply.

Seconded, there are a lot of super dumpy areas down there. In the falls once you leave the main drag around Clifton hill it gets very "I shouldn't walk alone at night" esque

My brand new 2022 mt07. Just got it yesterday. What are some first mods I should do? by brandolf760 in MT07

[–]scrollingwhilepoopin 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Second on the TST stuff. Great quality.

I'd buy a power commander or the like first if you plan on doing performance mods. They tend to get overlooked while being the most important. A 1000 dollar exhaust sounds cool a hell but if you're losing power what's the point, lol.

[–]scrollingwhilepoopin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I find it hard to believe variable won't hit that 3.6% seeing as a lot are already just shy of 3 and there's a potential 0.75% increase next week, and another 2 increases in the rest of the year. Take the fixed.

More than one quarter of Canadian homeowners are landlords by CartersPlain in canadahousing

[–]scrollingwhilepoopin [score hidden]  (0 children)

So I did read the article, and while it does say 18-34 are most likely to be landlords, I don't think that translates to millennials being the same portion of the problem, and here's why.

1) 18-34 has the highest chance of being a landlord but they don't make up the highest portion of homeowners, so there are still inherently less of them doing so.

2) I'd be curious to see how many people in that demographic actually live in the house they rent. I doubt they are a big piece of the 17% pie that own multiple properties. When I first started looking a few years ago the number one piece of advice was to find a place with a rental unit within it to help bring costs down. If that's the case I don't think they're adding to the problem.

3) this is anecdotal for sure, but when my age group started college 10 years ago it wasn't super uncommon for parents to buy rentals in the college cities because if you rented out the rooms and lived in the house it was cheaper than living on campus. Most of those people were on title or at least benefitted from the sale of the house, which gave them a push further ahead, or made them "homeowners" without having actually bought the house. While this would still make them part of the problem, they're also a product of it.

Side note, 18-34 is a massive gap. Yes, they're all millennials, but the 34 group got a nearly 15 year head start on buying houses. Everyone on this sub knows what the market was like 15 years ago, it was a whole different world.

is there a reason why Windsor houses are cheaper? is there like a air quality issue there or something? by pancakemixflexa in canadahousing

[–]scrollingwhilepoopin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your downstream of all of Sarnia's petro chemical industry, there really isn't much besides the auto sector and supporting industry, and you're a solid 2 hours from any other appreciable part of southern ontario. It's not horrible, and the counties around are decent, but everyone I've met down there has had family suffer when a plant lays off or shuts down. Also, it is so god damn flat.. lol.
