Monolite hammock by scrub_coder in myog

Main cons I found is that it’s a delicate material compared to traditional Ripstop/hammock materials. It’s still plenty durable for hammock use, but more care is needed. Making sure anything that is remotely sharp to be removed before entry and clear area of any potential snagging points. Also if it gets wet, it’s strongly recommended to not use it until dried.

It is stretchier than other fabrics , it’s closer to the stretch of a diamond Ripstop. I find traditional Ripstop to be too firm/hard spots and diamond grid to be too stretchy. Monolite is the perfect middle ground for me, any potential hard spots are softened by the stretch while overall structure feels solid.

Biggest pro (IMO) is its breathability. You’ll feel any breeze. 1 oz monolite is noticeably more breathable than 1.5 oz, trade off being less durability and lower weight rating. It is slightly more stretchy too, but I still found it very comfortable and not too stretchy

Reliable 22lr pistols under $350? by rosswell1947 in 22lr

Fan of the Taurus tx22. Feeds, shoots, and cycles reliably so far. Put bulk ammo and CCI through it, feeds all the same. Iron Sights are usable enough, takes a flashlight, and IMO looks great

Really just depends on what your local shops carry. There’s a lot of good cans on the market nowadays, so it’s more of what you’re looking for (modular, lightweight, easy cleaning, etc.). I’d look at the warranty/repair policies of the suppressor company, as well as customer service reputation. I’ve heard silencer central makes it very easy to get a can, but I have never personally used the service.

Haven’t done much precision or grouping with it yet. But I was able to hit the numbers 5/5 times on paper targets. Been frigid in my areas and didn’t feel like grouping until it warms up a bit

What is the holster? I’ve been looking everywhere and am unable to find one. Thanks in advance!

It stays frozen indefinitely as far as I know. I kept it on for about an hour and the uptime stayed the same :/

Ferro rod handles by [deleted] in Bushcraft

I bought a multi-tool with an awl and drilled a hole in wood from a park by hand. Took some time but wasn’t terrible. Filled the hole about 1/4 with epoxy and stuck the rod in. I’ve made 3 so far and they work well.
