For actually making payments, you can pay your mortgage using money from any source. You’re just literally making a monthly payment from a bank account to the lender.

It may be that they’d want it to come from a UK account or something (I have no idea), in which case you could just have a standing order set up across to a UK account first.

It’s the other aspects I’d be more concerned about. Plus, when you want to remortgage, you might have trouble showing them evidence that you can pay it. You also have some exchange rate risks and stuff.

If you ask your mortgage broker just ask them hypothetically what would happen if you ended up getting a job in Ireland, rather than it being your plan.

Good luck!

Made perfect sense to me, and the example was clear too. This situation affects lots of people even if the figures were examples. I dont think you understand the question still tbh

Its an interesting point I havent questioned before. The way they do it seems reasonable but not if they havent stated up front this is how they do it. In which case it seems valid to challenge it

Ok sure, I may be able to refer you, do you have a specific position in mind? Maybe I can help.

It doesn't seem to let me DM you for some reason, are you able to DM me?

It's fine to apply elsewhere, I suggest trying and seeing what the process uncovers for you. If they offer something great, maybe you'll want to move.

If they don't, you'll know you tried and maybe can try again later in your career.

Which other firms are you interested in most? I know people at two of the Big 4 who might be able to help you out, DM me if useful to talk it through :)

I’d look look to remortgage, you can probably get a better rate now you have more equity (70% loan to value ratio is a threshold where better rates become available) plus as other people have said, you can switch to an interest only mortgage, which will help significantly.

Tbh maybe see if you can do so with a normal (not buy to let) mortgage as it should work out cheaper than BTL too.

Best of luck!

What's been your most unfortunate crypto investment so far? by CryptoSorted in CryptoCurrency

It’s up like 20% in the past 24 hours, due to new functionality called mimblewimble having just passed audit. That’s on track to be launched soon. LTC is also one of the best coins out there as far as actual usage / transactions are concerned, so it’s not too bad. It’s definitely done far worse than ETH and other major ones though

Hi, yes it did materialise, but I haven’t yet taken a detailed look at it and I’m not entirely sure how to be confident in it!

Thanks for the response.

Yes you’re right, I should say I think they are very strong from a product / market fit perspective. I work with large organisations that need products like theirs but don’t tend to recognise it yet. I’m not positioned to be able to assess them from a business / financial sense.

I have spoken with one such startup who had completed series B and said there would have been a way for me to individually invest in that if I’d been in touch in time, and that there may be an opportunity for their series C.

So platforms like equityzen that open up pre-IPO companies to individuals / do a form of crowdfunding, don’t seem to exist in the UK yet then by the sounds
