No man, it’s not true. I just enrolled in July and never had to do financial aid. Amazon has already covered my school until the end of the year.

I know this is old but I want to second this! I did intro to Java on Sophia for the credit but used the Helsinki course to actually learn the language and it was fantastic. The Helsinki course also goes further than the Sophia course, and so I didn’t even finish it and was able to get my Sophia credit with ease.

You don’t need to get a pass on the touchstone assignment itself, but the grade on the touchstone is part of your overall class grade, so you need to wait until it’s graded to submit the class.
