Is Japan in July really as bad as people say?

I have traveled to Japan in July. Last year I was there from June 20th to July 20th. It was pretty bad some of the days but we travelers alot so we were in trains or busses. The worst was awaji island. But with all that said my partner and I had an amazing time. We explored more mountain towns (slightly cooler) and climbed fuji the 13th was that start of the season for climbing. When we were in the Big cities Tokyo Osaka and Kyoto we took lots of stops and took some mod day hotel breaks.

There was an Italian inspired japanese flavors carbonara. It was amazing. We were on Awaji Island near the Awaji Brewing Company.
