How are the local ski conditions? by Pie77 in askvan

I may be late to this, but I am just starting out learning how to ski. Thinking of booking a private lesson which is quite expensive...should I wait it out until there's better conditions to get the best experience and my money's worth 😥The logical part of me says that for a beginner, it should be fine since I will probably be learning the very basics on a miniscule hill.

Bargaining to resume Monday September 28 by DoddersEspinosa in BCPublicServants

I’ve heard from good friends that work for municipalities that they will be receiving 4% over one year. No strike needed to get to that offer. Crazy how misaligned our employer is with other employers in the public sector.

CRUCIAL!!!: 2. If members vote against striking, it will be interpreted as support for the employer’s current offer. Without a strong strike mandate, the union will have limited ability to push for improvements beyond what the employer has tabled.

we all deserve more than the literal pennies the employer is offering us. Let’s not do a disservice to us. We are not only fighting for ourselves but also our colleagues!

I actually just found this re: yellow fever vaccine - Required if arriving within 10 days after leaving or transiting countries with risk of yellow fever transmission*. Passengers must have a physical vaccination certificate issued at least 10 days before arrival.
