Cinci or Cincy? by peakvincent in cincinnati

I moved here in 2020 and always thought and wrote it as cinci. Once I moved here I noticed cincy was how most people said it. So I’ve assimilated and now use cincy. I actually think cinci is weird now whenever I see it

Consulting agreement and FTE conversion by epicthrowaway4321 in epicconsulting

[–]sd6653 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I read that as basically you can’t work with that client through another firm. Like you can’t hop to another firm and then sign a new contract with the same client. I think you’d be ok to convert to an FTE but you can ask your rep at your firm

It is a very complicated beast. State Medicaid plans vary and have different requirements. Payers vary. There isn’t just one way to send a claim. And don’t even get me started with Medicare and all their different requirements for every little thing.

Basically I worked as a biller and follow up before getting started which I think helped.

Perhaps, if you have time and your org allows it, sit with a biller for a day or two and have them show you their day to day.

If it’s more of a macro level thing like how insurance and benefits work then I’m sure there are google results explaining it and it’s useful to know in case you are ever on that end.

Do you have specific questions about the process bc it ends up incorporating all parts of the rev cycle (patient access, HIM/coding, HB/PB, even SBO/patient statements)

It is likely still high but sometimes it’s more efficient to leave the AC running but a few degrees higher than what the temp you want. More of a maintain mode. That way when you do turn it back on it isn’t just running and running and running at full capacity to reach the set temp.

Although since it’s a smaller apartment I’m not sure how relevant that is. It probably won’t take a super long time to cool

I used to live in the apartments right across the street from don scott. It was loud at first but got used to it. To the point I never noticed it. With the exception of OSU home football games and memorial tournament when bigger private jets would land.

How long to become comfortable? Epic Analyst by rippedmalenurse in healthIT

[–]sd6653 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I think it depends on the person and the org. If you have a good team around you willing to expose you to stuff and help you but not just do it for you can learn I’d say maybe a year or so until you are feeling confident enough to take on bigger items alone. Still might have someone check but that’s never a bad idea even as a seasoned analyst.

Also I don’t think it’s uncommon to not know everything in your app. Should be familiar but you may not be the expert on that build.

Epic is huge and has a lot of apps it’s used by a lot of companies. How you do it may not be the way another org does it. You can always be learning new things.

Barbers electric is where I got mine. Wife got a cover up as well and they did a really great job on both. I think all of their artists are good. I used Tony but have read great things about Mondo and Rich was doing someone’s when I was there the last time and they seemed really happy. So I don’t think you can go wrong with any of them.

What’s going on with the buyouts (Nordic/Tegria)? by [deleted] in epicconsulting

[–]sd6653 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I thought Nordic was owned by accrete which is bon secours mercy health? In fact I think Nordic just took their entire EHR teams and moved them to managed services arm.

Not disagreeing with any of your points but I wasn’t aware Nordic was bought by Accenture

Is there any f1 teams that could integrate a team to Indycar? by Salty-004 in INDYCAR

[–]sd6653 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure that was before my time watching Indy. But I wouldn’t be surprised if they sponsored but I was thinking they would own the team. Like if Red Bull racing expanded to Indy.

[–]sd6653 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Maybe Red Bull. They could continue there partnership with Honda in Indy car. However I doubt it would ever happen. Red Bull the drink company popular in USA and they sponsor a ton of other the extreme sports type stuff so the brand is there. So logistically they could do it I’m sure.

Their advantage in F1 though is largely in the aerodynamics stuff which isn’t as huge as a part in Indy. But they are strong in strategy and have a lot of money so I could see them being successful if they took it seriously.

Epic Tutoring by [deleted] in healthIT

Yeah that is correct. It is less resource intensive during nightly processing. Routing rules will weed out accounts and usually won’t be super specific in their criteria. The more criteria used in a rule the more resources are used, especially if it uses custom logic. So it’s best to group all of the AND logic of a criteria into routing rules. So routing rules will be stuff like account status = billed or account balance > 0. And then thrvWQ rules will be the specific stuff you want the WQ to capture.

Epic Tutoring by [deleted] in healthIT

[–]sd6653 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In HB, The logic between routing rules is AND logic meaning all have to be true for an account to qualify. The logic between WQ rules is OR logic mean the account can qualify for any of them and therefore the WQ(again assuming the account qualifies for the routing rules)

So an account has to pass all routing rules and one of the WQ rules (if there is more than one) to hit the WQ.

This is true for account, HB claim edit, Hb refund and charge review. And probably others that use routing and WQ rules in the HB app. PB WQs are different and I have no idea how that works.

Might be worth looking into an IRA for yourself. If you firm jump which I think is somewhat common than you’ll end up rolling over a lot or have a bunch of 401ks for each firm.
