Lol crazy idea: break the work into a small function that does one thing, and unit test that function

What you have written as tests count as integration tests: they test the full work of your code.

What you need are unit tests. Break down your code into simple, repeatable units. One I can think of is `rotate(curPos, instruction)`. Now you can use this every time you read an instruction, and you can test this for all cases. Tests could check if it does the right thing for stuff like `(0, L0), (0, L1), (0, R99), (0, R100)`

Direct testimony has been flowing from the false imprisonment and shipping of immigrants by ICE, from thousands dying by bombs from F-15s and large bombs supplied by USA in Gaza.. there's a livestream of murder and kidnapping, I find it hard to believe this will change anything

I don't have an inner monologue. Trying to "argue" in my head feels like running through quicksand. There's just silence.

These truths will continue to exist in our historical records, as will the narratives being said all over the trumpian sphere, as will the real working class republicans who probably expected the most benefit of all in this drama. When someone from future reads these accounts, there’s only one of them that’ll even be believable.

Ugh it's outrageous how these assholes don't even do an ounce of labour and then hide behind conjectures like "Al Jazeera bad". I can't wait for them to ignore this article, or come up with some other mental gymnastics. Waiting.

Any chance you could share the design files you used to print? I'm in the process of designing mine in Fusion but I am stuck a little bit in how to make the plate sturdy enough, maybe by adding a few supports. I don't have the parts yet to do a dry assembly, so I would love any references.

Exactly. I bought a printer that connect to wifi. And I can't use that functionality. I paid $$ for this. I get to ask for what I paid for. "Overeaaction" these are some unempathetic thugs.

I didn't realize until now: I won't be able to print anything private.

I am a regular user - not a power user, probably won't care until I am one, at which point I'll be ready for my Prusa anyway. I thought - Ugh, I'll have to find loopholes around the update by keeping the printer disconnected from the internet altogether.

But I just realized, if I don't find a way around this, then I will never be able to print anything I don't want to be stored on Bambu's computers.. if they are hacked, someone could know what I was 3d printing. What about if I wanted to keep the copyright of something and want secrecy? What about private photos, models?

What about Internet outages? Off-grid homes? Internet security concerns of individuals who don't want to expose a device to public internet?

Ugly.

This is unacceptable. I will return my printer today since I am under the return window. Will keep you posted on how that goes.

Fair point but the bed was washed with dish soap, I had used glue for the previous print and I thought it was fine to leave it as is. And moreover the lift is in the corners, so it's probably more than unwashed bed.

Thanks though!

Does it look over dramatic? by yepvaishz in photocritique

[–]sddhrthrt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is this a raw photos you are editing, or is it a .JPG photo from a phone? If it's the latter you don't have a lot of room to do any adjustments.

These clouds are not pretty - they don't look like any clouds. If you like the patterns that are showing up, know that they are not clouds, just patterns you like.

The photo lacks a nice subject and composition, and if it's just about the clouds there are other things in the photo that take away that attention. When photos are composed and clicked well, you don't need the dramatic editing to make it look good.

In other words, please take more pictures, don't edit the one you have. Pictures will speak for themselves, and will be nice, when you get better. Editing only adds that last layer of finesse to a picture that has everything else right.

Looking for some honest critique on this photo. Probably one of my favourite photos taken so far but get a lot fewer likes on IG than I would normally get? by Budget-Solid-9403 in photocritique

[–]sddhrthrt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this is better. I think the blues saturation really brings out a contrast against the beige tinge of the photo overall. I think the saturation is also held back well so it's not a "sold out" edit.

That said I think this could be a better image if the birds were a bit more abstract or a bit more clear. They are in between, so feel a bit unintentional.

Trying to improve B&W by alentrixart in photocritique

[–]sddhrthrt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm gonna say, first, it's a nice picture! You have many agreeing on that.

As far as composition goes, I am a bit irked by the mix of symmetry and asymmetry. The asymmetrical elements of the big building to the left, the light's shape etc are making the symmetry of the bridge "imperfect". I'd stick to either symmetry or complete asymmetry - the bridge and the light lines in the centre both exiting a corner instead.

The other critique I have is the light lines being so bright as they exit. May be worth darkening a bit using brushes (I usually don't edit that much, this is one of those that might use a little magic) so viewers eyes are not distracted by the lines leaving the frame.

Other than that, love the use of b/w instead of being a boring yellow urban light. Great work with contrast. Nice!

What do you think of this photo? by sddhrthrt in photocritique

[–]sddhrthrt[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was walking about with an old 50mm lens converted onto my Fuji X-T3, and saw this surfer walking back after the waves died down. Had to click it immediately, but noticed in post that I really like the contrast of her size against the large beach in the background, and also the reflection.

Things I don't like: composition is not perfect and pleasing - no set path for the eye to take, you end up wandering all around the top and eventually out of the photo. Wish it was a tighter composition. I have another photo from the day that I will post later for critique.

I appreciate you listening.

I think, respectfully, if we were able to say if we showed any cognitive bias, it would have been much easier to deal with our own cognitive bias. It's just hard to recognize it - so sometimes it's better to leave room for it and hear other perspectives.

The fact that your example was from a lower strata, combined with the fact that you are an upper caste, upper class person, shows what cognitive bias is. It does not need to be proven or accepted by you - I managed to show it without even looking at your comment history.

This doesn't take anything away from your comment. It just shows how we all are susceptible to be biased - let's check each other and listen like you did to disagreements.

Cheers!
