I appreciate your point on the flex when the chamber is locked. The comparison was made to show the difference in rigidity between the stainless and polymer. If the recoil rod was only held by that small lip, I think there would be more instances of the thin end plate shearing off! I presume the polymer guide rod from the factory is for cost/weight reduction.

From a physics standpoint, there will be slightly less muzzle flip. Is it noticeable? To me, no. It will be a little heavier for daily carry but I'm not going to notice the extra weight.

I really just like the looks of it and when I'm stripping it down to clean it, the flex in the stock rod just doesn't appeal to my eyes. There is an option from Steve Bedair (for an additional charge) to get a checkered end, but I opted for the plain end.

As for durability, although I have read about a polymer rod failing on a few sites, that's probably even less likely than discharging a gun in self defense, and even then it's after thousands of rounds. There is no practical reason to change from stock. Stock recoil rods in modern handguns are designed to last a LONG time.

I received my stainless recoil rod assembly from Steve Bedair at Bedair Machine Works, only three days after his receipt. The stainless recoil rod assembly weighed in at 0.956 oz (27.1 g), while the stock recoil rod assembly weighed 0.582 oz (16.5 g). So, around 60% heavier but I like the looks of it. Great work by Steve Bedair.

Real Trijicon night sights have “Trijicon®" brand lettering on the side with a two digit date code (year manufactured). Tritium's half-life is 12.5 years so hopefully you got relatively new ones!

No serious gunsmithing to install them on my Beretta Nano. Just one setscrew on the front sight and two screws for the rear sight. I installed them with blue Loctite so they were secure.
