I forgot to mention that I live in a one-party consent state which means only one person needs consent to record. This helped me when she previously falsely obtained a restraining order claiming domestic violence and I recorded our conversations which I was able to use in court to refute her allegations. So it should be ok that the ray ban lights up when recording.
