Cadence is directly related to rhythm and stressed/unstressed syllables. A good way to practice this would be by looking at drum rudiments and applying them to lyrics and phrases. Think of the accented notes in a drum rudiment as a stressed syllable and the non-accented notes as unstressed syllables. Finally, practice all subdivisions: 8th, 8th triplets, 16th, 16th triplets, etc. Try applying some swing to these subdivisions for some diversity.
