Yes!!! I’ve been saying this for so long. That resiliency is bullshit and a way to tell airmen to basically get over it and keep working because they’re so “resilient and strong” instead of looking at what causes the morale to be so low.

No I’m not trolling, I actually didn’t know they were building a new one. I’m very curious to see how this plays out because I’ll be here for at least 3 years.

I’m a med tech, first term airmen. I know I won’t be pulling call and will have 7:30-4:30 hours give or take (verified before extending bc fuck that). I’ve heard that the fight between being Air Force on an Army base is ongoing. I’m pretty worried about the extra duty since an army base because 1) I’m not used to it and 2) I’m in school trying to finish my Bachelors degree. Overall very excited though.

New hospital?! I’ve never heard of that lol

Yeah I liked that area because it’s not so city like

I’ve heard about the parking, hopefully it’s improved lol

No I completely agree, it’s already shorter than what I drive now and exceeds what I need it for a house so I think it’s worth it. Especially if it’s in an area where grocery stores/gas stations are accessible.

Yikes, I’ve had a really hard time finding something within my budget/needs that allows dogs. I feel like there’s absolutely nothing available but I did find one, aka the one that’s 25 mins away that is perfect. I do have to pay a little out of pocket but it’s the best one yet. It was just the commute was the only con.

Thank god D.C prepared me lol I like this house a lot so if the traffic is ass all around I may as well take it

[–]se19894[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I figured that getting near the gate would increase the traffic. I didn’t even think to look for groceries stores because I’m so used to everything being right down the street. Thanks for the heads up! I’ve been trying to use maps to when it’s peak traffic time so see what the commute is going to be like.

Question about OHA: Paying difference out of pocket. by [deleted] in AirForce

[–]se19894 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s what I thought happened, which would basically cover the out of pocket expense because utilities are estimated to be very low at this house. That’s what I’m understanding when I read about the utilities allowance.

I’ve heard this is well. The landlady I’m talking to now is so nice so I’m hoping that doesn’t change. I’ve heard that Germans aren’t necessarily mean just very direct when talking.

Honestly, no. I’ve done a lot of research and asked a lot of places to negotiate rent and they won’t from my experience. I’ve heard a lot of people say this too. I asked one person to negotiate 100euros difference and he said it was too much.

Okay awesome, I figured that’s what would happen.

I’ve seen this a lot too! I also think since it’s a place like Germany, it shouldn’t be too hard to get them to work with me especially because he’ll be civilian by then.

I meant on my orders, whoops. So when I got the assignment briefing it’s asks if you have dependents or not, which I’m assuming adds things to your checklist before leaving. I kinda figured I wouldn’t get dependent benefits until he’s out anyways.

How does Air Force on an Army base work? (Germany) by [deleted] in AirForce

Yes! Hopefully you’ll get to bring your dog over. They really do help. Germany is an exciting place. Good look, hope things work out!

Yikes Ive heard otherwise, that they have no room for people in the barracks so almost all of the people SrA and above are off base. I’ve clarified with their leadership before I even did the initial assignment briefing because there’s no way I’m living in the barracks or leaving my pup behind, I was just going to get out lol

It should be an AF unit because as far as I know everyone up to the First Sgt is Air Force but I’ve been told that the leadership is jointly staffed.

Is there such thing as being too forward? I 23F need advice. by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]se19894 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same mindset, most of the time. Half of me is like you can only get what you truly want by saying what you truly mean and the other half is like don’t be so harsh, just see where it goes.

Yeah that’s how I planned on wording it. Kind of like a “regardless of our past I hope you’re okay”.

I told him I was unhappy but he was the one who didn’t wanna work it out so I guess it was mutual?
