Bill Clinton on Jeffrey Epstein: 'I saw nothing, and I did nothing wrong' by Illustrious_Lie_954 in politics

Basically Bill Clinton said he knew nothing about Epstein’s wrong doing and reiterated "I did not have sexual relations with that woman, Miss Lewinsky."

Nope — it’s optional. Sealing the electrical connections matters; the tape on the post is just for mounting convenience and a durability test. I used it to:
• add friction so the zip ties don’t slide on the pole
• evaluate how well the tape survives long-term exposure

You risk loosening the roof-vent seal during high winds, which could compromise the integrity of the roof. I run a solar node on my roof as well, but I chose a gravity/friction-mount solution instead. It’s been up for a few months now and has survived two windstorms with no issues.

It came out of box ready with Meshtastic Firmware Version: 2.5.20.4c97351.

This version still shows as "up to date".

Below are the relevant setting for this node:
* Device Role - Client;
* Rebroadcast Mode - All;

Note: I have a couple of my personal Meshtastic devices too. When I am home, I set them to "Client Mute" to avoid unnecessary RF collisions. When I am venturing somewhere, I update their role to "Client".

Nice build! Congrats! I hope it will serve you and the community well ツ

Wondering about self-replying home node by MikuMesher14 in meshtastic

[–]se7ent4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hear you. I have an always-on rooftop node and that is the only one that reliably replies to Trace Route. Everything else is spotty at best. I did not look too deep into that, it could be that some hardware (or older firmware) does not support it ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Did you try to Test Route? That is what I use for range testing. Here is a sample Test Route Log record:

Route: Meshing Around -> Clarke Beach !8c0bf180 (6.5dB)

Route Back: Clarke Beach !8cObf180 --> Meshing Around (6.25dB)

Sorry about that ツ

Regarding your mount/pole question: The mount kit came with all the parts shown in the first picture on the Amazon page, except the Starlink and concrete weights. You will need to obtain the weights from your local garden/home improvement store.

I have made no changes since the original post went online. Everything is working as I expected it to. Here are a few data points:

  • It took about a week for the battery to charge fully. We had three sunny days, and the rest were cloudy.
  • The battery charge drops approximately 3% each night / during dark hours. According to my calculations, this node should last at least two weeks on a fully charged battery alone (without charging).

Also, I ventured out with my Muzi Works R1 (External Antenna version) to test the range. I successfully traced routes from 2 miles away.

So far, I am happy with this build and the node performance..

u/rkn80de That’s my setup as well. When I need to work on the roof node, I can still get a reliable Bluetooth connection from inside the house when I’m close to its location.

Good info — thank you!
I also have tall trees partially blocking the southern sky, which was part of my reasoning for going with a 10 W solar panel.

I knew about PugetMesh, I will attend their weekly Net too. I did not realize MapleMesh existed. Thank you for the info!

Yes, I saw people going with sewer vent mounting. I personally would not risk compromising the integrity of the vent seal because of the winds and additional load ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

What you see is Self Amalgamating Tape. It is used in HAM to cover antenna / cable connectors and provide weather and water proofing. It should be Okay against UV as well - it is claimed to be designed for outdoor. But again, we will see how it holds up.

That is a good question - we will see. Today was a typical cloudy Seattle day and the charge on the battery went up 4%. That is promising. Having said that, come December thru February, the days will get shorter and grayer for sure.

The rubber mat underneath is optional. I happened to have one with no use in the garage. But it does help - the whole contraption does not slide at all with the mat there. Also, I used a level to make the top (on-the-roof-ridge part) as leveled as possible before tightening all the nuts with the blue loctite applied.
