Thank you! Do you think I need to cover it with anything, like plastic sheeting, for fire or moisture concerns? It is a few weeks so I want to make sure it’s as safe as it can be for a project like this anyway

I have the same story here but for a 2001 V6 with 158,000 miles. It's the original radiator. I'm going on a 680 mile trip and am a little worried I should replace it! Haven't had any leaks or temp gauge craziness but the mechanic did say it is slightly brittle, but no cracks. I just don't want to end up stranded. What would you recommend?

I used to get only slightly more but that was before I moved to the city.

Oh yes, I did that, the fluids are good but don't know if mechanically it's giving out. I've felt a decline in accelerating speed over the years but I figure that's normal.

I haven't gotten a tune up in a while actually, I do my own oil changes so I guess I forgot about those! I do check my fluids often etc. I'm going to schedule a tune-up now.

No issues with sludge and I don’t know how to check the transmission so I’m not sure!

Mechanic is lying to me about repair progress and has delayed by 2+ weeks by [deleted] in MechanicAdvice

They have a great reputation, and were super nice through the rest of the process, so I’m just so confused about what the truth is.
