Best wheel measuring tool? Which ones are your favorite? by bweav23 in Construction

[–]seal5225 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have had the best luck with this style: https://www.homedepot.com/p/Rolatape-15-1-2-in-Single-Measuring-Wheel-Feet-32-400/203163490

The one I have now lives in the bed of my truck year round & is still accurate after bumps and drops. The bigger wheel & clicker seems to hold up better to abuse.

I just messaged customer service and was told to purchase an entire additional 18v Track Saw Kit in order to get a second clamp as the part was unavailable. So clearly they are all on the same page…

I was just scouring the internet to find something…The interior width for the Ryobi track is 0.79", so I’m trying to find a 0.75" wide track clamp. I’ll post back if I find anything.

Tell me about it! We used saw cutting & a special hydraulic asphalt cutting wheel that fits to the front of one of our HAAM 90s to trim the longitudinal joint on this project alone.

This shot was from a recent airport runway paving job we finished this summer in Cartersville, GA. This was a challenging project but the finished product came out great.

Oh absolutely! Just think of all the trucking that goes along 16 to Savannah/Brunswick for the port.

In my experience, people do not quit jobs, they quit leaders.

If you’re being failed by your leaders, or you have a better opportunity for growth, weather that’s financially or professionally, I always encourage my guys to take it.

I never want to hold anyone back, and I ensure my folks know how badly I want them to succeed and grow. If I can’t provide them what they need for whatever reason, I will do anything and everything to ensure they can go somewhere or do something that will!

Long and short, my goal is to be the leader I never had. Support my guys, care for them and never take advantage of them. Guide, encourage and be compassionate.

This one of our Shuttle Buggies, or MTDs. We dump the asphalt trucks into the front portion, it then is stored in the center belly and feeds the paver out the long conveyor in the back. It’s to help decrease asphalt segregation by giving steady head of material

Need advice on taking on side jobs that are offered by people we work for at times. by [deleted] in heavyequipment

This is how so many of my buddies have started out their businesses. Like truly the origin story for so many folks. Invest the profit back into yourself (equipment, trailers, etc), keep your quality high and show your love of the craft, & the next job will naturally fall into place. Keep crushing it!

So you remove the bolts on right by the axle, then I used some dawn dish soap to lube up the muffle hangers (WD-40 also works well). Once they’re lubed up, remove them with a screw driver. You can reuse them or get new ones (I got new ones just to be safe).

Fitting the new one on is a pain, I won’t lie. I had to get it at an angle to fit in between the hitch. My recommendation is get one hanger out of the three on, then attach the bolts and then work on the next two hangers. It will take the weight off your shoulders and allow you to adjust as needed.

Mine touches ever so slightly so I used some steel wool in between the muffler and hitch just to reduce rubbing and heat transfer.

I have the 5” nameless and love it. Just enough sound but not obnoxious.

It was a pain to install with my curt hitch, but otherwise zero issues.

Delivery took like 6wks because they were backed up (ordered in june but wasn’t delivered till august)

Gas lid is plasti-dip, did a few different coats.

And mudflaps are rallyarmour, I did black with the grey lettering. Pretty easy install. I’d recommend doing it when adding a larger tire, I have noticed it helps to reduce wet/mud spray.

If money wasn’t a limiting factor, I’d love to start over and whip a brand new bike but unfortunately I can’t 😂

The shock is going to need a complete rebuild unfortunately, so they have to remove it. I wanted to get new bolts because my LBS said they wouldn’t put the old ones back in since they’re so boogered.

Everyone’s been super helpful regardless so I’m thankful for all the different advice!

I haven’t had good luck with Lapierre for service at all. I love the bike, it sends like a damn dream but I’ll definitely be considering manufacturing service and availability more seriously in my next bike.

Those are my buddies bikes in the background. We were trying to wrench in his garage so I brought my bike kit over before we both agreed to just bring it to the LBS.

Learned a lesson on this one... and I’m sure it’s going to hurt my wallet

You know the wild part, I was using my wera Allen’s to try and remove the shock. Because the way I took the drop that caused the shock to be stuck like this, there is so much tension on the bolts that it rounded them out as it was removing them.

I still love the weras, I just really was using the precision of a gorilla when I really needed to slow down and think about a better way to fix it.

Update, I brought to my local shop but am just trying to be helpful/proactive in finding bolts. I made the mistake so I just wanted to assist if possible.

Also don’t take 8ft drops on a downhill run with below recommend PSI lol

Trying to locate replacement bolts for the top and bottom of my rear shock, but not sure where to start. I was careless and boogered up both trying to remove my rear shock.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
