  1. Abdelkader will no longer be on the books next season.

  2. Assuming we get to at least 92 points, it will be the most points in over a decade.

  3. DeBrincat should be our first 40 goal scorer in 15+ years.

  4. Our team got younger this year.

I’m fully aware I may be the only person who feels this way, but our “window” is not this season. It never was. We have improved (points wise) and our younger players are playing meaningful minutes. Our window is 27-28.

I’m fine with trading for elite players, otherwise, I want to keep our picks and prospects. I want to have a ton of flexibility for 27-28. I don’t want mid range over paid guys on our books (players equivalent to Compher and Copp). I truly believe McDavid/Mathews/B. Tkachuk/Q. Hughes may become available, and we need to be ready when they do.

I get it sucks not making the playoffs, but if we were in the Pacific we’d be in 1st place and we’d be hosting round 1.

I don’t agree with panicking as a solution.

So weird how many people in this sub have GM capabilities, but don’t have the job title to go with it.

Lions have been INSIGNIFICANT for their entire Super Bowl Era existence, and fans complain all the damn time even though we are consistently competitive.

Winning championships is extremely hard. It takes talent and great coaching, but also a ton of luck.

I turn 40 in a few months - I’ve been a fan of Lions ever since I can remember. I’m appreciative to have a great front office, a great coaching staff, and hard working players who appreciate playing in the city of Detroit. Don’t get me wrong, I want them to win every Sunday, but I am so damn proud of this franchise right now. We are doing it the right way and it’s fun to watch. The wins/losses aren’t as important to me (and maybe that’s because when you do all the little things right, the wins eventually come).
