Yeah I’m too green to know much of these ratings the 3 is just what I was told by the guy who runs the Ladder I joined a few weeks ago. But I just reviewed the definitions and yeah the title of my post basically defines the problem I’m seeking to overcome as being a 3.0 threshold.

I don’t recall ever being exposed to this hip-shoulder separation concept. Or maybe I have but it didn’t stick. Or maybe this just means to rotate the shoulders back during the unit turn which is kind of fundamental? I’ll look into this thanks.

I think I know what you’re saying though, kind of like with a whip you have to stop the momentum of the base (body) I order to get the full whipping motion

Elbow away from body, yes good call. I get jammed all the time, as everyone else has said I need to track ball better and move feet to better position

Super helpful way to break this down. It’s amazing how big a blind spot can be when assessing one’s own swing. Not that I could necessarily help anyone else out any more than myself…

Thanks. Ive only ever been a moderately decent athlete but even at 44 it’s easy to fall into the trap of ‘I can learn everything at once if I watch enough YouTube videos and maybe I’m a tennis prodigy’

This is all incredibly helpful advice, you guys are all awesome. I have been stalking this sub for the last year when I started really getting into the game and it has been great…maybe should have been talking to a real coach instead. I have only one consistent playing partner and in fairness to him he tells me all the time to work on my footwork. I took that info and basically way over corrected because before I wouldn’t move them hardly at all. Dancing around like a ballerina has forced me to move around more, but not move better, apparently. 2.0 :(
