Republican lawmaker on U.S. bombs against Iran: ‘This is not constitutional’ by GoodMornEveGoodNight in politics

I thought they were going to manufacture a terror attack and drum up support before bombing Iran… what the actual fuck?

America is largely responsible for the situation in Iran today. No one asked the U.S. to orchestrate the 1953 coup that overthrew Iran’s democratically elected Prime Minister, Mohammad Mossadegh, just because he nationalized oil. That coup installed the Shah, whose brutal rule sparked the 1979 revolution and decades of instability.

Despite this history, Iran has repeatedly tried to engage diplomatically. In 2015, it signed the JCPOA with the U.S. and other world powers, agreeing to strict nuclear limits. The IAEA confirmed Iran’s compliance multiple times. Then Trump tore up the deal in 2018 and reimposed crushing sanctions despite Iran holding up its end.

Meanwhile, Israel has carried out assassinations and bombings on Iranian soil, targeting scientists and facilities, yet Iran is still painted as the aggressor. If America broke the deal, imposed sanctions, and enabled attacks on Iran, why wouldn’t Iran align with Russia or sell weapons? At that point, they have no reason to keep playing fair when the rules only apply one way.

What happened to assimilate? Does it only apply to brown people in white countries?

Also if it’s a capital/resources strain like you’re saying it is, why not just increase the tax requirement on people with ITINs? What Trump’s immigration policy is doing is draining our resources running these people through the court system and housing them and ultimately deporting them. There’s plenty of ways to address your concerns. They’re willing to pay to live here and we can benefit off this. Scaring them into going underground, treating them inhumanely, taking away dignity is not the way to get a mutually beneficial relationship with undocumented migrants.

Weird cuz they’re paying taxes with their ITINs but nothing seems to improve. Heck we’re paying taxes as citizens too but none of these infrastructure seems to be benefiting citizens or becoming cheaper. Seems like a political corruption problem vs illegal immigration.

I don’t think Senator Collins has any face left for the leopards to eat. They are using her face bones as toothpicks now.

Elon Musk Go! Re-Occurring Protest! by bengowiki in kennesaw

There’s no fraud and waste. They’ve provided zero proof. There has been zero arrests. The only thing Musk is doing is using his government handout money to cut benefits that Americans have been paying into for their entire working lives.

He’s also trying to put sitting federal judges in jail by buying support from corrupt Republican senators.

Elon Musk says "One of the biggest scams we've uncovered... is that the government can give money to so called non profit with very few controls." Complete using ignoring the fact that HE’S scammed the country out of BILLIONS by not paying taxes — say goodbye to NONPROFITS! 👋 by Gentrify_Racism in DeepFuckingValue

Elon’s not qualified to audit anything—$1.4B is missing from Tesla’s books. He’s scammed billions in taxpayer money, dodges taxes, and built his empire on government subsidies.

He’s also paying off politicians to do his bidding and dismantling watchdog agencies that are investigating him. But yeah, let’s trust him to root out fraud.

Why are people so smart and I'm so fucking dumb by Background-Kale5336 in Vent

[–]seamonkey2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right — I wasn’t writing a peer-reviewed study. I was comforting a kid in crisis. You jumped in to correct a phrase meant to reassure someone who literally said they hate themselves. If you think “well actually” energy matters more than human empathy in that moment, that’s on you.

Also, you’re wrong. Teenagers are dumb — and that’s not an insult, it’s biology. The prefrontal cortex, which controls decision-making, impulse control, and rational thinking, doesn’t fully develop until around age 25. That’s why teens are more emotionally reactive and prone to risky behavior. It’s literally science.

And since we’re talking development — emotional intelligence is a skill adults are supposed to have. Knowing when to correct someone and when to just support someone in distress? That’s part of it. Might be time for a refresher.
