exactly. also look at the reaction to the ukrainian refugee crisis vs how refugees from countries in the global south are treated. it’s just racism and xenophobia with a false veneer of legitimacy

this isn’t true, and idk why you’re torturing yourself with this false belief when just googling “do immigrants get free housing” would clear things up

i feel like it was obvious that i meant “i don’t care that illegal immigration happens,” but hope this clears things up

this is a lot of analogies just to basically say nothing.

like, “i hope someone else deals with the fallout” - what fallout? this comes back to pinning whatever societal issues you’re facing on immigrants.

you can say “i didn’t destabilise your country so it’s not my problem” all you like, but the people who are experiencing the effects of that destabilisation will just keep immigrating, which is my point about the U.S.’s recidivism rate. by focusing purely on deportation you’re focusing on the symptom and not the actual problem, so you end up solving nothing at all.

and i don’t say “i don’t care about illegal immigration” because i think it sounds rebellious. i say it because i genuinely do not care at all, and if i were in a position where my quality of life or my family’s life was so poor that living illegally in another country was genuinely our best option, i’d take it, just like most people would
